Very, very, very important point confidence wise and "season defining" wise. Good mood before the international break after which some very important winnable games will come.

Gunn: Good lad

Bednarek: Very reliable

Vestergaard: Best game in a Saints shirt. GREAT goal. Good timing. Good thinking. Focused for 96 minutes.

Soares: I really like the guy for his positivity and loyalty and obvious friendship-building skills, but his distribution today was not good. He didn´t look quick compared to Daniel James. I still think we need him, though.

Danso: Good game , Lad, a little unlucky with the second yellow as he actually DID touch the ball in that tackle! Looks like a very good signing. Can´t believe he can play left back so well AND take the ball forward with pace down the left hand side. Could ultimately have cost us the point but he didn´t!

Romeu: 3 years younger and 4 kilos lighter??? VERY good game.

JWP: Also approved performance but less brilliant than the 2 steel midfielders of ours. I think he deserves to stay in the team.

Højbjerg: Good game from our captain. But stop diving. Now.

Boufal: Good game. Very positive. He plays with a smile on his face and is dangerous. Well done Ralphy.

Ings: Well fought. I believe in him. We have not seen his best yet but I think it will come. I really do. Awesome assist vs Brighton in my book!!

Adams: Hmmmmmm. beter luck next time. I´d like Ralph to trust in him and keep him in the team for the next games, but I am beginning to worry a little bit because of his shitty finishing so far.

Long: Typical die hard fight, but stop bringing the ball to the corner in the final minutes and instantly give away a throw in. Take the ball inside and blast the ball in the net in stead. Honestly!

Yoshida: Great jump in. Several not so easy clearances. Seemed very confident and leading from first second.

Armstrong: I like him. Good engine. Good going forward and defending.

Happy weekend everybody.

Some good saves from Angus Gunn....Cedric turning in a shift again despite obvious shortcomings... Bednarek and Vestergaard beginning to look like the best CB and one year on Vestergaard seems to have finally " come of age " -a very good performance.
Danso looked good before his red card, but like Djenepo he has to adapt to the pace of the Prem. and stop diving. Is Romeu really getting better ? ..he seems to be everywhere and is still our midfield hard man.
Hjobjerg looks a little out of place at the back but still does a captain's job all over the pitch.
Prowsie still hasn't found the form he had in the Spring, but puts himself about and shows creativity. Boufal already showing up as a most-improved player and made an excellent sub.for Redmond.
It just needs Adams to get his first goal and Ings to remember how to smile and start finding the net again.

A good result YES. Man Utd always complain about their absentees, and inconsistancy but with their resources they really ought to have done better in the last quarter against our 10 tired men.

Very good point given the sending off coming with a good 20 mins of play left.

PEH perhaps not at his best but I would cut him some slack. JWP still doesn't contribute enough for me - Danso good until that brainless tackle. The centre halves played pretty well, as did Romeu and the keeper. Boufal and Cedric gave their usual performances. The player I am worried about is Adams. I know it is early days but he looks like he's finding the step up tough. We were not great up front today. Ings and Adams do not (yet anyway) look much of a partnership.

Still, I would have settled for 4 pts from these first 4 games. We need to at least double that to 8 before we travel to Poopey and then the new Spuds patch...

Not a good or bad performance ... I wish Mario would bury the hatchet and boss our midfield ..JWP Would be good if it was American football when you could bring him on for corners and free kicks ... Mario Lamena .... SORT OUT WHATEVER YOU NEED TO DO AND PROVE TO EVERYONE WHST YOU CAN DO ON THE PITCH

An outstanding performance by Romeu coloured in an otherwise somewhat gray and murky performance from both sides. Don't usually moan about refs but Mike Dean was simply dreadful today, so inconsistent it made your head ache just trying to figure out what he was seeing that most could not.

Danso behaving like a complete idiot didn't help us at all when we had a chance to win the game.

Ward Prowse! How come he gets to spectate for free pitch side when the rets of us have to pay £50

We looked much more of an attacking threat when RH finally put JWP back to RB.

There are some exciting days ahead with Djenepo, Boufal and Redmond mesmerising defences. I fully expect Adams to regularly hit the back of the net soon.
Vestergaard had a very poor game and showed up all sorts of problems but will he feature in our next match?
Has Valery recovered fully? I would have expected him to have started, tho Cedric didn't cost us a goal this match!
Romeu was in control in the midfield and was always available to start an attack, that's what we want to see.
We were not in total control of the match but there was plenty of positive play and good spirit, the three points will boost the confidence of the whole squad.

As everyone will realise that was a superb first half and Eze seemed almost unplayable. Then 2 things happened: Rs got over-confident + sloppy (yes, you Joe Lumley, but there were others) and in the second half the Hatters stopped giving us so much room + showed some aggression. Oh and Hugill thought he was playing rugby and kept kicking 3 points - wrong game.

One other thought: Barbet/Manning on the left of defence are not convincing. Second Luton goal came from that area and there'd been a scare in the same area minutes before.

But some of the first half passing and movement is the best I've seen from the Rs for a long time.

Well done to all in the team. Not an easy game. Djenepo man of the match for me. He looks like a very good signing and scored a great goal. What skills he has. Great weekend to everyone.

Barcelona in the first 35 mins we became Hastings United for the rest of the game.Every player 8 or 9 in the first 35 mins became 3 or 4 after that.So I have divided the average to come up with my player ratings
