Russia invade Ukraine 14:17 - Dec 23 with 172997 viewsFlynnidine_Zidownes

Discuss.

Also why is Putin always described in the media as this rugged strongman? He’s barely five foot tall with his high heels on.

But that’s another debate.

You’re easily pleased. He says absolutely nothing in his Twitter. He says that Ukraine's fall isn’t predestined but it is. It appears the troops the Russians pulled back from Kharkov are having a month off R&R before coming back for a major offensive.

He goes on to describe Zelensky as a Russian puppet. Do you agree with this?

As ever you've either misread an article or you are flat out lying and hoping nobody gives it more than a cursory look - Neither look is good.

Nowhere does he call Zelensky a russian puppet. He talks about what he expects from a russian Invasion and that included a Russian installed puppet in Kyiv.

Since the Russians captured the Luhansk area, they have closed the gap, and therefore shortened their front line. This means thy can take units out, rest, train and re equip them for another battle. The Ukranians, while they also have shorter lines, are mostly dug in and not mobile like the Russians are. They are subject to artillery while the Russians are not. Ukranian troops are being worn down physically and morally. Russia has all the advantages

I wonder what Putin thinks now, of his chances against NATO. This nasty war he started has shown the world how feeble Russia's army is.

If not for the nuclear weapons Russia would be less threat than North Korea

If Putin wasn’t hiding like the coward he is behind his nuclear weapons Moscow would have already fallen by now.

Seems like the UK government is starting to get tougher on those who spread Kremlin propaganda. British national Graham Phillips has just been sanctioned (and therefore also banned from entering the UK too). Galloway and others who make money off Russia's killing should be too.

Time to turn the screw on all those who assist Russia's war.

*Note...in 2014 Jeremy Corbyn celebrated when Ukrainian forces released Graham Phillips from custody. Phillips has a background as a brothel blogger, is allegedly believed to have an inappropriate interest in women under the age of 18 (said to have wanted to marry a 17 year old), and has travelled with the invading army cheering them on and putting out regular Kremlin propaganda (denying their war crimes etc). I think there are quite deep issues within some aspects of the far left. How much Corbyn knew of the above I am not sure, but a lot was openly available back in 2014.

It's irrelevant, Russia is going to win regardless, but the losers will be free speech. Something our antecedents fought for. Anyone who supports this would be giving a grave insult to all those who died.

Wrong again. Free speech has always had its limits. Those who support enemy states and assist the war efforts and war crimes of invading armies very rightly should be dealt with. Free speech has limits in many areas including areas of hate speech, but I don't expect someone like you to have the capacity to think about that. It also doesn't surprise me that you don't have any issue with so many of these Kremlin propagandists being suspected sex offenders. Their lack of morals is perfect for Russia.

It's not hate speech you fool. There is plenty of different views out there. Many are either too stupid or lazy to search for.

I could just as easily say, those who support the Ukranian govt are NAZI supporters.

That just shows how young you are. Didn’t you ever hear of the Blackshirts?
They used to run around Londons streets in the ‘30’s espousing fascism and adoring Hitler. Much like the Banderites did in 1930’s/40’s and Maidan/Azov crowd have done since 2014 in Ukraine.

Hate speech is abuse towards people with regards their sexuality , their colour or race or their religious beliefs. Hate speech is NOT taking a different opinion on the origins of a complex and multifaceted conflict.

Hate speech? How very “woke”.

Didn’t I? Maybe it was incomprehensible. Let’s examine :-

“Wrong again. Free speech has always had its limits.” Hmmnnn ok , possibly in the Stalinist USSR or Germany under Hitler where free speech definitely wasn’t “encouraged”.

“Those who support enemy states and assist the war efforts and war crimes of invading armies very rightly should be dealt with.” Are you accusing me and Contro of assisting in War Crimes in the Ukraine? Best call the (secret) police if you think you’ve got a case.”

“Free speech has limits in many areas including areas of hate speech,” WTF does that even MEAN???

“but I don't expect someone like you to have the capacity to think about that. “ you obviously don’t either - you may have written it logically otherwise.

“It also doesn't surprise me that you don't have any issue with so many of these Kremlin propagandists being suspected sex offenders.” Ah, so you’ve moved on from accusing the Russian soldiers of child rape - it’s just the government now who are sex offenders. Ever taken a look at our parliament - Cyril Smith, Harvey Proctor and an alleged pedophile ring alerted to the Home Secretary Leon Britain at the time by Geoffrey Dickens MP and ignored.

“Their lack of morals is perfect for Russia”. - Again WTF ?? Have you proof that EVERY single Russian is perverted or immoral. That sounds a lot like hate speech - actually it epitomises it.

As a post that simply makes no sense, is offensive and stereotypical. Self unaware and unaware in general.

I think you missed a major point here.Russia is not our enemy. We aren't at war with them. They haven't declared war on us or we on them. Therefore, you're post is irrelevant and makes no sense at all.

You may not approve of their actions, and you are entitled to say what you like and i get that. The difference between you and is you support censorship and I don't

Good grief, it really wasn't that complicated to understand.

There are limits to 'freedom of speech'. Just one example is that there are laws against hate speech.

I'll make it easier for you by pasting some relevant text:

"Under Article 10 of the Human Rights Act 1998, “everyone has the right to freedom of expression” in the UK. But the law states that this freedom “may be subject to formalities, conditions, restrictions or penalties as are prescribed by law and are necessary in a democratic society”.

Those restrictions may be “in the interests of national security, territorial integrity or public safety, for the prevention of disorder or crime, for the protection of health or morals, for the protection of the reputation or rights of others, for preventing the disclosure of information received in confidence, or for maintaining the authority and impartiality of the judiciary”.

Someone who shouts 'what about freedom of speech!?' in the scenario of a country sanctioning an individual who is working to assist an enemy state with its war efforts simply does not understand the topic of freedom of speech.

I can't be much more clear than that.

As for your 'why are you saying everyone in Russia has no morals' nonsense...I am talking specifically about the disgraceful and clearly immoral Russian government and how its military use the most immoral people to spread their propaganda. Perhaps you want to argue the case that Graham Phillips isn't actually a total scumbag and is actually a lovely, gentle guy who happens to just be truthfully covering Russia's side of the war out of the good of his own heart? Yeah, good luck with that one.

We all understand that. You just don’t understand what hate speech actually is.

You think that people arguing that the Ukrainian state has played its part in the creation of this situation is hate speech. How the loving f*ck is that hate speech?

Did you see the article on the BBC ten o clock news this evening - criticising Ukraine for the treatment of disabled men - many sleeping 6 to a room in cots?

Perhaps that was hate speech because Ukraine might have been offended. Idiot

Clearly the guy is very far left but he writes with a lot of patience under the circumstances. Some other Ukrainian socialists are livid and feeling let down by some of the pro-Russian sentiment they've seen.

I haven't read his post but it looks like he's said we are demonising all Russians now, which is far from the truth.

I've been to Russia, only for a short time and I only properly spoke with a few Russians but the story is, it seemed to me, the same as anywhere else. Most Russians are decent people with the same hopes and dreams as the majority of the rest of us. They don't want war, they don't want to be hated. I have no argument with that but it's also the same story about politicians, they cause the trouble, they cause the wars and the rest of us have to deal with it.

Then we have those "open minded, educated thinkers" telling us we are all wrong and Russia hasn't invaded anywhere, that Russia is being demonised by MSM propaganda and we are all fools for believeing it. They are so oblivious it mght be funny in different circumstances. As it is it's just sad and pathetic so I'll say it again, use the ignore button. The only censorship I 100% agree with is the personal kind. if these people make you angry and/or offend you then put them on ignore and forget about them.

Just my opinion, but WTF do I know anyway?
