Most people once they reach 40 realise socialism does not work. Socialist policies kill ambition, reduce everyone to the same poor level. Success means more wealth for everyone which means more money can be spent on public services like the NHS and provide the extra billions to pay for those who cannot or will not work.

Everyone is a socialist at 20,fewer at 40 ,fewer still at 70.

Poll: Christmas. Enjoyable or not

Well as labour only got 39% of the vote in the last election that means only 15% of voters I Wales would vote for independence. You can add in 10% from PC snd you might manage to get 25% of the TOTAL of ALL voters in Wales might vote for independence a figure thst has not changed in the last 50 years.

A simple search on google shows poll results from the last 10 years or so with the yes vote as low as 10% in 2013. So the figure has at least doubled in just 10 years. No one can argue that that isn't a massive increase.

And you say felix it hasn't changed in 50 years !

It's similar to the devolution results. People often say there was a very small majority in 1997 using that as a criticism. What they ignore is that the yes vote went from 20% in 1979 to over 50% in 1997. Again that is a massive increase.

It will be very interesting to see what happens in the next ten years.

Does success really mean more wealth for everyone? It has just lead to an ever incresing disparity in wages between the top 1% and everyone else.
Most people at 40 have a house, kids, savings etc. Policies that would benefit poorer people are not really their major concern, their concern is scrabbling to maintain what they have already amassed.
Humans as a species are inherently selfish it is in our inature to be this way.

Anyway back on topic as i think it may have been my fault in drifting away from it.
It was a nice day out in the sunshine for some enjoying an event for something they believe in.

Me, my Mrs, her mother and my best mate. It was an attempt to point out to Killy that you can make polls say what you want by asking a certain demographic.

You could be correct, the next 10 years will be interesting.

The war generation definitely have sense a Britishness that the post war generations lack.
So although the young will grow old, they will never share that sense of Britishness.

So yes Indy is inevitable - and its just a matter of when, not if.

You do seem very rattled on this one.

Why do I seem rattled? Honesr question because why would I be rattled about something that won't happen in my lifetime, which is my honest opinion.

The truth there is it's just you grasping at straws again.

Swansea is an indy city you said, it'd be funny if it wasn't so ludicrous.

What arrant nonsense. 18 million were British enough to watch the coronation of British Monarch ON TV as well as 2 million who attended the event. In comparison 3,000 people from all over Wales attended the independence March in Swansea.

Independence is unlikely in the next 100 years and even more unlikely if Wales ever did gain independence They would surrender it to the undemocratic EU.

Stick it on pay per view and the viewing figure would be about 71.

Nobody would pay their hard earned to watch a bunch of white rich people dress up , like Mr Benn, as brave soldiers with medals whilst the rest of the world carries on regardless.
Most of the public who actually attended seemed to be half wits. 🇬🇧

As it stands, why on earth would the EU take on Wales? Can’t see the member states looking for another mouth to feed.

Wales, Scotland and the north of Ireland would be welcomed.
The other lot … well, not so much.

I am hoping we will have the Euro as well.
Going to be a great day.

Are you ignoring the damage that Johnson and Truss inflicted on our economy ?

Socialism could never damage our economy as comprehensively as the recent Tory government. 🇬🇧

But again you fail to mention that the turnout was really very low in 97. Most people in Wales do not care about theSenedd or independence.

The people turning out to vote are those who always vote and those dead keen nationalists and indy supporters.

Kilky always says that youngsters will carry indy one day but youngsters don't bother to vote. The people Kilky wants to die off, the over 65's, they are the ones who always turnout.

PS, the 97 vote for yes was 50.3% against 49.7 voye for no. it only won by almost 7000 votes and it was a turnout of 50.22% which literally shows that 25% of the voters wanted more powers with 49.78% not bothering to vote.

More people couldn't be bothered to voye than voted yes...or no. Hang on though, john,

https://researchbriefings.files.parliament.uk/documents/RP97-113/RP97-113.pdf

the turnout was hhigher in 1979 at 58.3%

taking the polls and results, there's 25% who support indy, 54% would vote for the union with 21% who possibly wouldn't vote. That is still more than 2-1 against indy. As the evidence says support has actually fallen recently then we COULD assume the indy argument has peaked and is now subsiding.

Really ! That is such a crass comment. To Gordon Browns credit he kept us away from the euro. If we now had the euro we would be about 10p in the euro/pound worst off. In these present times this would absolutely cripple the worst off in society. Please think before you make such sweeping statements.

And we wonder why 90% of the East sing anti English stuff. They must read this nonsense.

Swansea Indepenent Poster Of The Year 2021. Dr P / Mart66 / Roathie / Parlay / E20/ Duffle was 2nd, but he is deluded and thinks in his little twisted brain that he won. Poor sod. We let him win this year, as he has cried for a whole year. His 14 usernames, bless his cotton socks.

More evidence that socialism fails. Just add Venezuela to the list. The richest country In South America with the world's second largest oil reserves now reduced to a shell of a country by a socialist government

After 20 years of a socialist devolved government in Wales it now has the worst NHS in the UK, the highest unemployment, the highest economically inactive workforce in the UK. Add in Drakeford's plan of no new investment in road infrastructure and it is only going to get worse.

Poll: Sholud Wales rollout vaccination at full speed.

Seems impartial to me.

Can anyone from the vocal minority nationalist community on here tell me when independence is going to happen? Should probably set a timer. Not asking for the exact moment but an honest ball park figure as to when this is supposed to happen?

It will happen when there is enough support, then and then only. Well unless England decide they no longer wished to be in the union and then i suppose it would be enacted either way.
Our independence will rely heavily on actions of the UK government and whether Ireland/Scotland situation leads to their independence.
I'd suggest if neither left then Wales potentially would also remain. If they do then maybe giving an estimate of us leaving somewhere between 30-50 years from now would be realistic.

You asked for a ball park figure, could well be before or never depending on Governments, economic change and a whole host of factors.
