Us "yoons" don't need to march, we don't need to raise support. We are happy in the union and it isn't under any threat. Even scotland has retreated form the indy march snce Sturgeon and her hubby got collared.

Tell me again why Swansea is an indy city when of the claimed firgure marching very many had to be bussed in, same as every indy march. A large chunk are bussed in from all over Wales.

Well as we saw in Scotland, even when they claimed support for indy was over 50% they still couldn't win the vote so forgive me for being sceptical when support in Wales is barely half that.

When, not in the next 10 years I am sure after all, if the UK apparently cannot survive outside the EU then how does Wales survive outside both?

Support for the SNP is falling and support for Scottish independence is now lower than at the time of the 2014 referendum. A wasted decade for Scotland which is all due to the SNP blaming everything on Westminster rather than the abject failure of the SNP's policies.

As of 3rd May the average of all polls held in Scotland has

Yes to independence 43%
No to independence 48%

Don't know 9%

Another puerile post! Yoons..for heaven's sake it's like something a 15 year old kid would say. The support for an independent Wales is just too small. Also why wait for Scotland and Ireland. Haven't we got the cajones to do it ourselves..... Thought not! Mark my words when Labour win the next election, the separatist support will begin to dissipate.
If there had been 20000 in Swansea last week, you could have taken notice but an alleged 6000. It's just not really very good is it . There is no great appetite for independence and having worked in Llechryd, Cardigan the week before the coronation with Union Jacks and Welsh bunting and flags everywhere. I can see why.

Most people once they reach 40 realise socialism does not work. Socialist policies kill ambition, reduce everyone to the same poor level. Success means more wealth for everyone which means more money can be spent on public services like the NHS and provide the extra billions to pay for those who cannot or will not work.

That right there is the problem though, Felix.

Tell me where decades of capitalism have gotten us?

The rich have gotten much richer and are increasing that gap more quickly, accelerating away from the poor who are falling behind in most measures. Our healthcare is failing, our schools are failing, the police are failing, the standard of living is falling.

Success has only meant more wealth for the already rich, they hoard the massive profits while telling the rest of us we can't have a cost of living pay rise because they can't afford it. Then they go out and buy another superyacht, a few more mansions, another airplane...

Funding for all our services has been cut, it doesn't affect the rich who jump the queues because they can afford to. Every year our taxes are rising whie more services are cut because councils are broke, where is the money going? Not on wages for the lowest paid.

Socialism doesn't work but Capitalism is also a busted flush. What we need is a mix of the two, socialist ideas run on capitalist lines where profits are reinvested, not paid out to sharehoders, where the people in charge are truly held accountable and don't get to resign when they make a right mess, they get sacked and face all the problems that us ordinary people have when we screw up.

Today Jeremy Hunt said he'd accept a recession if it brought inflation down, easy for him to say on his wages with his expense account. Recessions usually cost jobs, what about those people who lose theirs and cannot pay bills they were already struggling to pay?

Same thing happened in Catalonia. Where eventually they had a pro Spanish march. Spanish flags were flown from buildings everywhere. I remember this forum when Trampie commented that they were bussed in from other parts of Spain. There are absolutely thousands of non Catalan Spanish of different generations in the autonomous region. Also many Catalans regard themselves as Spanish Catalans or the other way around.

capitalism has made the rich very much richer but as I already pointed out, the poorer and getting even poorer, even the middle earners are worse off because of the high taxes and cost of living.

https://www.forbes.com/sites/daviddawkins/2021/04/06/europes-billionaires-are-1-

have the majority of us increaed out wroth by 50%?

https://www.reuters.com/world/europe/2020-ultra-rich-got-richer-now-theyre-braci

What is the point in having more wealth when we cannot access health care nor afford to go private. What is the point when public services are all so underfunded taxes need to rise in so doing, taking our extra wealth away from us working people.

The capitalist system favours the rich, they are the ones gaining hand over fist while the rest of us gain in small increments. Even while all the mega rich were making massive gains our government was telling us we shouldn't ask for a cost of living pay rise because it would keep pushing inflation up, in which case all of us are worse off in real terms. With inflation at 10.7% I got a 6.5% pay rise.

No - capitalism will always create rich people yes, but it will always create poor people as well.

You cant have one without the other.

And thats why it sucks.
Well that and killing the planet, of course.

Thats why its now an Indy city.

Thanks for this example.

Last September some 150,000 Catalan separatists rallied in Barcelona.

We need to try to match that mobilisation.

Thanks again for highlighting whats possible.

Why do you say 'had to be bussed in' Cat ? If people decide they want to go on a march then that's their choice.

I don't understand why you imply there's something wrong with that.

It's because a certain individual declared Swansea an Indy City, I believe. Which of course is bonkers and totally untrue. Of course it's their prerogative to come along and enjoy a good march in the sunshine city of Swansea. However Indy City it is definitely not.
