Warren Farm gets go ahead for QPR on 16:18 - Apr 24 by Northernr | Well as I understand it you can't go to the Supreme Court on the same point of law you went to the previous hearings with, it has to be something genuinely new and compelling to take it there. So fingers crossed our 14 day appeal gets it lobbed out. |
If they unearth something new after 5 years that this has been going on, wouldn't the Supreme Court want to know why it has not been presented sooner? Surely that's almost wasting Courts time otherwise. Or will SWF innocently claim they, funnily enough y'honour, only just came across it?
Warren Farm gets go ahead for QPR on 16:52 - Apr 24 with 2735 views | Tonto | Clive is right in that they have to have something new, not just be gettign a second opinion, so it is scraping the barrel time, but there is always the hope that they tug on the right heart string of the right judge and get their way, but its a very expensive way of doing it, as from now on they have to bere all the costs of the Council and QPR if they lose... and that is quite expensive...

I am hoping this is a delaying tactic. And all they could do was the appeal, knowing that when QPR appeal back, they have at least 14 days and will lose. By doing this it gets them another 14 days they would have to find something new (you know, "I know we said this, but this was just discovered in those 14 days so, now hear this and forget that") or argue it again. As this is literally all they can do. Hence that £12K has not been spent just yet. This maybe the last throw of the dice on their side. After all with this appeal, what do they have to lose as they have lost all the others anyway? I am hoping this is the case. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Well as said above if they lose this one they pay the costs so it would be a big old risk to take unless they have some serious backing - which I think we all assume they do.

"or argue it again" - They can't argue it again on points already raised, it has to be something absolutely brand new. They've either got something new (if so, where has it been hiding these last 5 years?) or just want to waste another 14 days. Surely there comes a point where people can actually be penalised for wasting time?

Warren Farm gets go ahead for QPR on 17:59 - Apr 24 with 2389 views | BostonR | I have seen this approach before which was purely a delaying tactic. I thought this would happen but they either have a cast-iron point of law or they are hoping to get through the Court door. I canny see that Rs have missed anything so this could be over quickly. The only other consideration is a very rich third party wants that land for another purpose and hopes to see the Rs position weakened.
Warren Farm gets go ahead for QPR on 18:05 - Apr 24 with 2366 views | Ashdown_Ranger | I think the process is: 1: The objectors appeal the last planning decision (as they have just done) 2: QPR appeals against their right to appeal that decision 3: If QPR wins the appeal against the objectors' appeal, the club wins, end of story. 4: If QPR loses the appeal against the objectors' appeal, then the appeal 'proper' will be heard in the Supreme Court. 5: I think the Supreme Court's decision is final, with no further appeals being possible (but stand to be corrected...)

Warren Farm gets go ahead for QPR on 19:25 - Apr 24 with 2120 views | Lblock | As noted previously.... check out who owns the land bang opposite WF. His wealth is mind boggling. They also have a solicitor working pro-bona so no cost there (i believe hes retired so has lots of time on his hands) My views on this are documented so i wont repeat them Amazing how Spurs have flown through the redevelopment and massive increase in WHL. Its almost as if they had a well worked, considered plan and a proactive approach. Of course they also had a very timely fire which removed one of their biggest objectors plus the fact that even just emptying the rubbish bins around there would improve the area The saga rolls on......
