Woolwich (non QPR) 17:48 - May 22 with 21141 views | simmo | Readng the reports coming through, shocking stuff. It was a soldier apparently. I know 3 or 4 guys based at the Woolwich barracks but thankfully most went to Kenya last week. Cut off a man's head next to primary school allegedly. In the middle of a weekday afternoon... 'One witness, identified as James, said he and his partner saw two black men attack a young man aged around 20 in a Help for Heroes T-shirt with kitchen knives like he was "a piece of meat". He told LBC Radio: "They were hacking at this poor guy, literally. "They were hacking at him, chopping him, cutting him. "These two guys were crazed. They were just animals. They dragged him from the pavement and dumped his body in the middle of the road and left his body there." He said that after the "horrendous" attack, the two men, in their 20s, just stood around, waving knives and a gun, even asking people nearby to take pictures of them "as if they wanted to be on TV or something". He continued: "They were oblivious to anything, they were more worried about having their photo taken, running up and down the road. "They had no intention of running off or leaving or anything. In my opinion, they were waiting for the police to arrive to be shot by the police. That's the only thing I can think. It's horrendous what they were doing to that guy." Some "brave" women tried to shield the man on the ground from them, he added. He also said that it was 20 minutes before armed police arrived at the scene. "When the armed police came flying around the corner, the man with the beanie hat, the tall guy, he charged at the police vehicle. "A shot was fired by the other guy with the gun. Six shots were fired, both men went down and we now know they are dead as well."' http://www.newsshopper.co.uk/news/10436107.Police_called_to_Woolwich__shooting__

That's always a problem. They are clearly savages. Should we become savages too? No easy answers but no one ver wins the race to the bottom. As English we should hold on to our generally civilised ways.

Hard to disagree with that.

I agree , we can be tough without losing or own dignity . I have always been opposed to the death penalty , I am not soft . I would have no problem locking up for life . I would offer an option of suicide after a long time . If they left these guys in a yard full of squaddies I would not care too much . But state murder ? Not in my name . We have got more class than that .

Woolwich (non QPR) on 19:46 - May 22 by SpiritofGregory | BULL$HIT!!! You know what most would think, don't act the innocent one with us. If people from abroad don't like this country then they can fu*k off back to where they come from!! If people who are born here but have foreign parents don't like this country then they too can fuc* off to where their parents come from. I am sick to death of these people taking the pis$ out of this country, something needs to happen, if the government don't act we will find ourselves in a civil war within the next 15 years. Do you think that other countries would put up with this - like heck they would! I'm also fed up of useless lefties who defend these people, treat them like victims and act like the KGB when someone has the guts to express their frustration. And before you start calling me a BNP/EDL supporter, both my parents are from abroad and they are of the same opinion as me. |
Spot on in my opinion | | | |

Woolwich (non QPR) on 20:37 - May 22 with 1386 views | BromleyHoop | It will be interesting to find out the backgrounds of both the attackers. The one shown talking on camera has clearly lived in London for years if not all his life. It has been a well known tactic of Muslim fundaMENTALISTS to target dissaffected members of Britains black community (Richard Reid had a string of convictions and was recruited whilst in prison). I'd be interested to know if they were actually born Muslim or have converted and if so what Mosque they are alligned to. RIP to the victim.

At a school evening tonight with my 8 year old son. It was an international day. Celebrating wonderful multicultural environment that his school is. Brilliant evening, son very happy and enjoined singing in different languages, trying different food and came away with a henna tattoo his hand from one of two ladies of Pakistani descent. Come home and seen this. Feel sick. The animals that carried out this attack are about as representative of most Islamic people as the Klu Klux Klan Grand Wizard is of Christians. The guys that did this are just sick twisted and manipulated animals who deserve nothing but contempt for their actions. Don't paint everyone with the same brush though, simply not true. My thoughts are with the poor guys family at this time. Shocking. Hope the two creatures that did this suffer in this life and the next, whatever that might be, for their actions.

How long did it take them to get an armed response unit to the incident then?

The local police had to wait for a Trojan unit to deal with them. As soon as reports of a firearm being on scene become apparent that's all they can do. If you had CS spray and a friction baton would you attempt to face down a nutter with a gun? Not sure I would. Full details of the police response have yet to be released anyway so making any sort of comment at this stage is irrelevant but that's just my opinion.

I dont get that at all. Utter nonsense. We decide to be either dignified or savages like these two knuts. It's that black and white. Both were shot and may well still die before reaching court. There's no indication they were on a watched list so how you conclude this was a 'softly softly' approach I dont know. C4 News signed off stating EDL mob was on it's way to Woolwich, no doubt to hand out ice creams to local Muslims and that police were being drafted in from Thames Valley and Essex to deal with them, financial cost unknown. Savages will always be savages, I personally believe the English are still civilsed and it is all that seperates us from the savages.

The only concern should be the guy this happened to, his family and friends it affects and the people that had to see it. The motives at this point are 1) speculation and 2) mostly irrelevant The people that did it were oviously unstable. [Post edited 1 Jan 1970 1:00]

Softly softly approach to people who disrepect this country, if you don't like this country then bugger off! There are plenty of Muslim countries in this world why don't they go and live in one? I see you live in Brighton, moved out of London did you? Couldn't hack living in London anymore? Very civilised....
Woolwich (non QPR) on 21:02 - May 22 with 1182 views | billericaydicky | Some strong views on here which are perfectly understandable as I'm sure we are all shocked by the horror of this. The attackers are clearly sick, regardless of their religion/colour, etc..Well done ITV for giving them the publicity that they craved. My first point is my thoughts and condolences for the family - may he RIP. I agree with many that we are and have been too soft in this country for years. No doubt that Governments have tipped-toed around the religious/racial aspect to many attacks/crimes, highlighted by the recent sex attacks on white girls by muslim men, but I digress. A one poster commented that we always seem to want to understand disaffected muslims, but disaffected whites are naturally racist and not worthy of being understood. There is a lot of truth in that and then people wonder why groups like the BNP and EDL attract them. There's a lot of anger out there and slowly people are starting to say ' you know what, I'm sick of this and I really don't care anymore if what I say offends anyone'. No doubt the political debates will go on for a while and if anything good can come of this I sincerely hope that attacks like this never happen again, but sadly I think it's far too late as we are now 'growing our own' terrorists. Another poster suggested large donations to Help for Heroes and hopefully that will be one positive consequence of this vile act. A very sad day.

Don't want to exacerbate the situation for fear of being labelled a 'leftie' that 'defends such actions' but the 2nd paragraph is essentially what I was eluding to when I spoke about not concentrating on race or religion and more on the victim and people that were there to witness it. I hope these guys suffer as they deserve to, but I also hope they are not held up as representations of their 'religion' or race. That was the only point I was making (albeit rather badly). On another point, that video is unreal. Can't believe he can stand there yards away from a man he has hacked up, covered in blood, and relatively calmly apologise to women that had to see it... Must have felt surreal to those just going about their day and the bloke that stood that close to film him must have had some stones, I don't think if have ventured that close...

And this is part of the problem our lets understand them and respect their human rights etc gets us, it encourages and gives strength to extremists on the other side ie the EDL mob, but I would venture to say out of the 2 extremes the Muslim extremists are more damaging and cause more deaths around the world
Woolwich (non QPR) on 21:21 - May 22 with 1074 views | N12Hoop | Just read that someone has claimed that the guy on TV had been seen angrily preaching/ranting against Britain in the town centre in previous days. I went to Speakers Corner a while back and also heard loads of ranting against this country. Surely there's a line where freedom of speech crosses the line. For people to stand up and be allowed a public platform to espouse such virulent anti-British views is taking things to far. To hell with freedom of speech, these people should not be allowed a public platform.
