Swans hierarchy meeting today regards this transfer window 10:30 - Jan 30 with 10998 viewsKeithHaynes

Here’s hoping the talking will stop and the action starts. Russell Martin has hinted at late signings. But we all know one or two won’t fix it.

We have been talking for over a week to two players, one striker we approached two weeks ago seems a gonna. And of course the countless others we don’t know about.

Why are they going to gift us money.
They are not a charity.

But over the last 5 seasons have spent 126 million on transfer fees.
3rd highest in the Championship upto the end of last season.
We have received the most in as well 196 million.

But that was required due to the huge shortfall in revenue after relegation.

We need to be sustainable and we are due to them sales

So the £70 million gained above, plus the £100 million parachute payments, plus £20 million for play offs, plus season tickets for those years. Shouldn’t we be one of the richest clubs outside the top 10?

Why cannot they put money into the club?. They have done it before £200k 2002.

Explain.

Other teams have been reclkless with mega rich owners diluting their minor shareholders savagely.

Stoke owner £180m lost,
Middlesboro owners £120m lost
Tan maybe £50M plus,
Reading deducted point and huge debts and playing rubbish,
Sunderland £100m wrtten off
Charlton £100m written off
Derby £100m + admin.
Bolton £100m + admin.
Bournemouth sugar daddy
Fulham sugar daddy

That was presumably done with the backing of the other shareholders.

The current majority shareholders are obviously not keen on the trust doing this as evidenced by the CLN arrangements.

20 million for Play offs where did you get that from.

Our salaries were huge in the PL without the cuts we would would be in a right state now probably similar to where Derby are now.

The drop in revenue even with parachute payments is huge.

Was still hoping the club would bring in some quality this window.

Time is against us though.

Doctor Parnassus knows more about it but it was some sort of solidarity payment.

The salaries were cut savagely and swiftly and it began immediately after relegation.

Huge drop but we also made huge sales.

There should surely be scope as you say to fill some quality in the squad.

I suspect the so called "other shareholders" got involved after putting them selves forward. I drew this to the attention of the forum. We all can guess who these people were. People who are good for Swansea and want to help.

There is no good reason for the Trust not to have volunteered their money at least. Fans demand US cash while cash held in their name stagnates declining at 5% a year with inflation at that level. Even the dimmest of the dim must know 5% devaluation of 10 year is catastrophic. A 40% loss of purchasing power.

I am as 'thick as mince' according to one poster. At least I can do basic maths to a 10 year old level.

As you know the trust have requested the full details of the CLN. You keep ignoring this fact and you allude to it is making you look very silly. If they were provided the information (as all the other shareholders would have been), they could decide if they wanted or were able to.

But even then, as you know the decision to allow them to do would be down to the majority owners, who by not providing the details of the CLN are preventing them from doing so.

Your investment advice is completely irrelevant. If they can't loan the club money because it's someone else's decision, they can't get the interest.

The maths isn't relevant either. This deliberate disingenuity is completely laughable.

Just highlighting how laughable it is that it's deadline day, nearly 5pm, glaring gaps in the squad, but the majority owners and decision makers at the club are immune from criticism to them.

It's the trust's fault apparently, who probably couldn't loan the club money if they wanted to. Their ignorance of the facts is startling.

So they have given up. It did not stop the other shareholders. Club ownership is no place for the timid Chief. Lovely nice people getting ripped off.

5% from the club that need money and 0.15% off Santander that do not need their money. 33 times more interest. They will get a nice cub of tea and a Scottish shortbread of Santander that is all. The HSBC and Lloyds have not invited them over either.

I am asking questions . No one else can be bothered.

Given up what? They've requested the information, it isn't forthcoming. Yet you refuse the criticise the owners for this? Why?

Maybe they ask for the details in every meeting but as we know the Americans lack of cooperation is startling. Note Silversteins recent "not in my pay grade" comment. That's what the trust is up against. But other shareholders were provided with the information.

You stated the trust 'should have been invited into the CLN'. You know they weren't so surely the majority owners deserve criticism. Why aren't they putting pressure on the trust as a shareholder not to loan in?

You're asking questions that have been answered repeatedly. And the questions are not relevant. It's deadline day and you're asking questions of a marginalised minority shareholder whom you know for a fact are ignored by the majority owners.

Your hypocrisy is unbelievable.

Fans demand 'Yankee' money they have no control over. It is a fact that he fans have control over £880,000 but chose not to mobilise this money as 21% owners of the club. This money is devaluing in real term at 5% per year at current inflation rates. Do that for a few years and you will soon be poor.

International airport in Bournemouth. A well healed aged community by all accounts. They are living beyond their means and know it.

Swansea a well established philosophy of low debts and low investment. The fans ownership do not want investment. They in one of their statement gave the latest reason for leaving the club as the fear of 'dilution to nothing". Their holding of 21% was always untenable but their leadership did not understand this. Had they held 5% they could have easily match funded the US people.

Low debts and low investment - why are the majority owners moving away from this model then?

Where have you read that the trust don't want investment? You've made that up. More disingenuity.

What's untenable about 21%? The owners can invest if they want but are choosing not to. That's their decision no one else's and the trust couldn't do anything about it if they wanted to. So again, will you criticise the owners for not converting and reducing the trust's holding as you want?

They haven't been asked to match fund anything. As you know but are determined to ignore. You're credibility is in tatters.
