Martin has said they players played not to his instructions and has since said both Pato and Piroe were not on board with the way he wanted to play. I would imagine they weren’t the only two, it was a ludicrous way to play.
Since then there seems to be some sort of compromise and we are playing far more sensibly. More akin to what we wanted him to play at the start, hence the criticism, and hence why he is now getting praise. |
So would it be out if the equation that both are now on board and playing to his instructions?
It can be said that since then the players are now on board and Martin's style is now starting to shine through.
This of course won't be accepted by some because it goes against their criticism towards Martin after only a few weeks in the job..... That's correct, a few weeks into his job, WOW! Plenty called to give him time and be patient and fast forward to today and those people can see the changes happening and rather than be honest to themselves and others they are twisting it to suit.

If as I have told you and you say its not out of the equation then that suggests that it's not 100% wrong so inducates you are not 100% correct so I would advise if you are not sure to not push the lies as fact.

The players made it clear they did not agree with the style, hence the Bristol game. It seems like from that game a compromise over a style was reached and everyone now seems more comfortable. THREE times the amount of long balls, less possession in needless areas, direct and no faffing around the box when the high press is in action.
All the stuff we were calling for, all the stuff we were told he could not adapt to and we had to lump it.
Not sure what is so difficult to understand.
Where is the anger? Where is the making things up as I go along? All this is documented and demonstrated, despite your continued frustrated tears.

He was having a go at me for making the obvious observation that all was not well with Martin and Piroe earlier on in the season. He calls me a liar, says its damaging the club.... then goes on to say that he also thinks there was a disagreement between them.

I simply do not see what is wrong with being "wrong". I was wrong to get too downbeat but ,looking at what we were it was justified to me.
By the same token the Crew have to accept they too can be "wrong".

I think It's more a refusal to admit others were right. They entrenched themselves in the ''we should not change and we should trust plan A'' camp.
The sensible among us were clear that it's all well and good to play a possession game but we have to go long when we need to, we have to be more direct and we have to rely on a mixed style not just a short passing one. It was too easy to defend and we created nothing as a result.
That has now happened and we look far better for it.

Correct, it was accepted that this was the case until it no longer became convenient to acknowledge.... which happened to be within the last 48 hours oddly.
This wasn't just a case of preference in team selection, it was a lot more than that. Anyone pretending otherwise should be asking themselves why they aren't being honest.
That is not to say it's an issue now of course. I'm sure it isn't. | |

Show me a post where I haven't said there was an issue? Of course there was, I've actually been spelling it out. He wasn't impressed with Piroe and he got the dressing down because of it.
What I am saying, is there is no player power at all on show like Dr P and the other fella who think he's "itk" and played at a "high standard " is saying.
Piroe said Martin was honest with him, Martin has said he had words with him, the performances are the proof in the pudding it worked. Very, very silly bumps may I add.
