English people booing the gesture to support black people and racial equality tonight at M'boro, sounded like the vast majority of the English supporters as well.
Should teams refuse to play England, or should England be banned from the Euros ?

Continually being banned by Planet Swans for Porthcawl and then being reinstated.

This sums up the gesture to me. Just a shallow and false display of nothingness.
Which is why it should stop. It, as recognised by Wilfred Zaha, becomes a habitual gesture without meaning. Action , lacking from the likes of UEFA, not symbols.

It always was, from word go Prof.
If you asked any of those players on their knees to name some modern day racial injustices that can be addressed and how they think that should happen. They would struggle to get past ''ummm''.

Footballers are like sheep and none would want to be vilified by not taking the knee. It affects their image. I dont doubt some are genuine ,most if of colour, but sorry Im not convinced your average thick a mince lad from a white sink estate is that bothered. He; only bothered about his contract and social media platform.

There was one video I saw not so long ago, 2 guys giving homeless people clothes and food.
They thought the camera wasn't working so made their apologies and told the homeless man they would be back tomorrow when their gear was fixed.
So that cold and hungry man was left another 24 hours until they could be sure their ''kindness'' was being filmed.
All of this nonsense is just the same. Modern society is the most empty, poisonous and meaningless generation for as long as I can remember. The media lap it up though, and even ensnares usually sensible and lucid people.
Utterly bizarre age to live in, completely transparent yet everyone too blinded by social compliance to see it.

Dr P.# We've had plenty of spats on here but that is one of the most honest and accurate posts for many a year. Ive always wondered how many charitable acts are filmed. Sickening really.
In contrast,George Michael's genuine care ,concern and generosity invariably went under the radar and were only discovered after he died.

Which to answer you both is why Zaha was right to stop. Equally if individuals feel they wish to do it they should be allowed-but let's end the scripted way it is being done.

The question society has to ask itself though Prof, is why it took Zaha to state the bleeding obvious for it to become fairly accepted?
Many people, many good people at that, made the same common sense points long before Zaha noticed and had the courage to state the absurdity of it all.. and were called racists and a whole myriad of unpleasantries. This creation of phantom enemies such as that is what fuels these things.
Yes agreed, many footballers do good things too, Salah had his house burgled and ended up giving the man who was stealing for his family a helping hand to get on his feet. Its the stories that need to be unearthed that are the most genuine, those that are usually all over Twitter and Instagram within hours usually are done for a reason.

That I can't answer. It's more than year into this and really should have been a short-term gesture that had an impact. It should have ended with the 19/20 season in football. Cricket made the gesture and moved on. As I said it's now like banners before the game-increasingly empty. The pressure for, often younger, people to follow an accepted norm is enormous and without doubt one of the big problems of social media. Along with completely fake information from all political standpoints-plenty posting on here with opposing views lack the capacity to filter anything.
Scottish Gordon Brownhas said Boris must support the FA over bend the knee. Wonder if he also said anything about Nicola sturgeon supporting the Scottish FA decision not to bend the knee?

You are wrong. This should be supported as it makes people think. Even the hard of thinking.
The reality is that these young men are making a valid point. The sight of mostly old men in the crowd booing them is frankly sickening.
You should be able to see what is right and what is wrong here.

George Floyd.
How about the police not kneeling on a mans neck for 9 minutes, and taking his life.
I reckon they would all know that one.

Right, but what has that got to do with anything?
That has happened to people of all races, in fact the only real justice handed out is when it happened to a black man.
They may know the story, but the point they would be making with regards to linking it to their message seems to be flawed at the very basic of levels.
Here it is happening to a white man who committed no crime. Reckon they would know that one? Nah I don't either...

Another lie. The UK is a member of the United nations so by the definition of every other nation in the world the UK is a nation.
Wrong.
It does not matter how much you want the UK to be a nation. It is not. It is not dependent on the UN even if you try to believe that to be the case. It is not.
Wiki says ...
‘The United Kingdom
The ‘United Kingdom’ refers to a political union between, England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland. Although the UK is a fully independent sovereign state, the 4 nations that make it up are also countries in their own right and have a certain extent of autonomy.’
Wales is a nation. ðŸ´ó §ó ¢ó ·ó ¬ó ³ó ¿ UK is a political union. Facts.

Please see my reply, or read the google stuff.
It does not matter what you want.

Put it together and you have a United Kingdom, the G7 summit showed you this afternoon, what everybody thinks of our United Kingdom.
You give it out, you take it back it`s all part of the game
I do not believe those who choose to boo are racist. Well some may be I suppose but generally most people are anti racism.
It is ironic that players making what they feel is a gesture to promote unity, equality and acceptance has resulted in so much division.
Does anyone who opposes the knee, have a suggestion of an alternative way the players should make a stand? Or do you think they should simply accept the name calling, monkey noises etc as part and parcel of their well paid job?
