It's a newpaper article that shares direct quotes for the country's top vaccine statistical analyst.
The fact it's in a newpaper is neither here or there, it's first hand information, directly reported.

But that "top vaccine statistical analyst" stated in the article:
"Maccabi figures released earlier this week indicated that vaccination is working very well, but lacked a control group that made it hard to extract an accurate effectiveness rate."
It also states things like "Full protection is believed to kick in a week after the second shot". I'm sorry, but "believed to kick in" is not concrete enough for me to stick something in me that I do not need. This does not make me believe that I am helping others by having the jab.
Again it states "Ekka Zohar said she was encouraged by the light symptoms of vaccinated people who caught the coronavirus". So it does not stop people contracting the virus. |  |

I will only have the vaccine if there is real proof that it benefits the world as a whole.
I will not take it to make myself immune or to lessen my symptoms. I simply do not care about these issues.
I am not convinced that me having the vaccine makes my elderly Mum safer. Until it does, I will not have it.
I can understand services refusing people who refuse to supply a negative test, but refusing to get the vaccine makes no difference. | |

As I have said before I expect visitors not to be allowed into countries unless they have received the vaccine. The vaccine helps to prevent hospitalisation which could burden the local health system. Expect it to be part of travel insurance as well. |  | | |

I can see that being the case for people who have not been tested and can provide a negative test.
But having the vaccine does not even ensure that you are free of the virus. How would that help a country to control spread?
If you stop someone coming in who has had the vaccine, you still don't know whether they have the virus and can spread it.

She is a crank who is also using the pandemic for her own means. Chair of the Irish Freedom Party and part of an agency arranging trips to Dublin for St Patricks Day.
She has a less than stellar track record in science. She is not a professor of medicine. She develops methods to study proteins, and is not exactly a world leader in that.
Cited as one of the leading sources of misinformation around the pandemic.

About 75000 people had one of the vaccines the UK has bought as part of the trials. Nobody died. Not one.
If 75000 45 year old men caught Covid about 375 would die. Approximately a further 7500 would need hospital treatment.
Having an existing medical condition will increase your risk, but is it really a gamble worth taking when the vaccine is safe? Also do you know you don't have a health condition you are unaware of?
