Yorkshire_Dale added 20:35 - Apr 6 My MOM by a country-mile Olly Rathbone........never gives up and great engine! Special mention to grey-haired Jimbo Mac........great tackle on penalty spot 1st half, stopped a certain goal! smegma added 21:34 - Apr 6 Messysaints added 12:43 - Apr 7 Tim Saints, JWP put in 10 crosses, Redmond 0, JWP played 1 threw ball, Redmond 0, JWP made 9 lay offs, Redmodn 2, JWP created 4 times more attempts at goal than Redmond, JWP had poor game and Redmond was good? for running about like an idiot and doing nothing else? ok sure. we are entitled to our own opinions, but only on here does Redmond get voted higher than JWP, on every other website / whoscored and so on and so on and so on, JWP created the most in the game. So excuse me for not agreeing with your opinion, JWP played poor created 4 good chances, Redmond played well and created nothing... Great opinion. Geoff78 added 17:40 - Apr 7 Only conceding one goal in the second half to 10 men felt like a success! After 12 mins thought we were looking at repeat of the 7 we conceded at WBA. fubsy added 19:14 - Apr 7 An interesting game. I thought we ran out of gas at the end. There is no disgrace in losing to a team of Liverpool's calibre. I am tired of officials getting decisions wrong - Liverpool's first..... I have no problem with Saints going for it at 1 - 1 but perhaps we could have both full backs in the centre circle to deal with breakaways when we commit everyone else forward. I thought Pierre was outstanding, our back 3 were very solid and our mid field excellent. Klopp had to bring on Henderson and Milner to turn things round for them. I thought Saints were very good for most of the game. TimSaint added 01:20 - Apr 10 Hi Messy Thanks for your reply. You have based your whole arguement against my views on JWP's performance, on the assumption that I actually rated Redmond. The fact is I never actually compared JWP to anyone else in our team and the reality is, I didn't give Redmond a very good mark. All I said was that in my opinion, JWP didn't have a very good game, by his recent standards - that have earned him an international call up - and demonstrated where I believe he could have done better, without comparing him to any other player including Redmond. (They are players with differing styles anyway). I accept he put in some crosses (he takes our corners and free kicks) and did some lay offs, through balls and good passes, but as I said, his performance was not up to recent high standards. I also said that I hope his form improves for the Wolves game this weekend - and as an added extra, that all the other players' form improves too . I just feel that PEH has earned and deserved the MOTM award for the last 2 games. Perhaps Ings or Long will be awarded it this weekend with a hatrick ? Let's hope so. I_would added 18:07 - Apr 13 Got there in the end although I think Wolves dropped off a bit which helped. Ward Prowse was chasing shadows the whole game and should have come off instead of Sims who was doing great. sidsaint added 21:06 - Apr 13 Some lovely touches from the front three in the first half. We held Wolves when they were dangerous in the first half and then in the second didn't give them much and we could have had 4 or 5 in the end. Our defenders certainly know where row z is. saintjf added 21:07 - Apr 13 Great result. Wolves clearly have some gifted players but a great Saints performance. JWP was not great but delivered some excellent dead balls. Romeu made a difference when he came on. Stability. Ings a worry. So happy for Long. Back 3 looking OK. Not so sure about our full backs who had a busy afternoon. Gunn is improving and has some authority. Still grinning... codge added 23:30 - Apr 13 Have to get over giving the ball away so much, puts our defense under so much pressure.Agree Ward Prowse was to lightweight in this game back to bad habits.Still will take the win even if it was not pretty 3pts is all that matters right now.
