Interview with 2 Argyle fans

With Argyle heading to Spotland this weekend, we've dragged a couple of Argyle fans in to answer our questions.

1) Who are you and how long have you followed Argyle? My names Leigh, I have supported Argyle since being taken along by my Uncle back in 1985. The bug bit me and there was no going back!

2) Having just come down from the Championship, what were the expectations of your average Argyle fan for this season? I think most fans realistically expected at least a play off place, although this league is considerably harder than we thought it would be.

3) How's life under Peter Reid so far? Monkeyheed talks the talk but so fat is a little slow walking the walk. Things haven't really imporved yet but he was left with a lot of "sub optimal" talent from the last couple of years. Given time we will improve.

4) I know it's early on, but who's impressed you in League One so far? Brighton without a doubt, and the Dale of course!

5) Our manager Keith Hill was a player with you. Any memories from his time with you? Don't remember a massive amount of Keith to be honest, I recall him as a bit of a steady eddie with an occasional temper.

6) Rory Patterson started with us as a trainee, so it was a bit of a surprise to see him back in League football. How's he doing? Slowly!! He has potential and has really been thrown in the deep end to be fair to him. He lacks the instinct needed to be a 20 plus goals a season striker. He needs some serious development and could lose a few pound to streamline.

7) Your last visit to Spotland saw you become Champions. What are the chances of this weekend's game being as good? If we play the way we did against Wednesday then it'll be a bloody good game. If we play the way we did against Brighton then it will be a long coach journey home for the fans that can go!

8) Other than that, any memories of games with Dale, or players who have played for both clubs? TBH no! we went for many years without meeting you lot (73-74/95??) so it was at my peak time watching.

9) What sets supporting Argyle aside from supporting any other side? The frequent frustration that we are a sleeping giant just waiting to be wakened. The biggest thing i find is the apathy of Plymouthians towards the club. We have an exciting time ahead with redevelopment and potential world cup site and the average response from fans is Pah!

10) Dull prediction time, what's the score going to be? 1 - 2 (sorry)

1) Who are you and how long have you followed Argyle? I am Luke Nowell, live in Plymouth and have followed Argyle since I was 8, I am 20 now.

2) Having just come down from the Championship, what were the expectations of your average Argyle fan for this season? Mid-Table, any lower would be poor.

3) How's life under Peter Reid so far? Better than the last couple of years but still not great.

4) I know it's early on, but who's impressed you in League One so far? Brighton have been the best team I've seen, not impressed with Southampton or Sheffield Wednesday. Huddersfield look a like they have a strong team as well.

5) Our manager Keith Hill was a player with you. Any memories from his time with you? Nope, too young

6) Rory Patterson started with us as a trainee, so it was a bit of a surprise to see him back in League football. How's he doing? Seems to have a decent strike on him and works hard but offers little else.

7) Your last visit to Spotland saw you become Champions. What are the chances of this weekend's game being as good? Not very high

8) Other than that, any memories of games with Dale, or players who have played for both clubs? Nope not particularly

9) What sets supporting Argyle aside from supporting any other side? Local team of course!

10) Dull prediction time, what's the score going to be? 1-1

Swans in a first half performance of absolute perfection
Swansea City took all three points this afternoon at the Swansea.com, the first half delivering a superb performance which won the game. We shouldn’t be too harsh on their second half performance, it just displayed the lack of strength in depth head coach, Luke Williams has at his disposal.

The Swans, despite the good news on Ben Cabango’s new contract on Christmas Eve (You would have read it first here on the Indy the day before) are in need of a big boost from the first of two fixtures over the coming four days. Swansea Independent : The background to how we work
Our exclusive news on Twitter yesterday came to light this afternoon with the official announcement that Ben Cabango had signed a new contract at the Swans. Excellent news and the constant question on ‘How do we know these things ?’ We really have to put it to bed.

Boxing Day, a traditional sporting day out for hundreds of thousands of people pursuing an outside interest, be that in any form. This Boxing Day, which for those who get their days confused at this time of the year is on Thursday.
Swansea City to a man : A total unprofessional embarrassment
Swansea City presented another pathetic performance to the travelling Jacks, some of whom had taken seven hours to get to the game today. The lack of effort was almost a V’ sign to head coach, Luke Williams and if that is the case we have some troubling times ahead of us.
