New finances logged by the Swans : But what are the implications ?

Looking across the Swans financial investment of late we have been urged to ask a question regards recent transactions. Being of no real competency in these matters we have spoken to those that are. So, what do you think ?

You can leave your comments below or on the thread on the main forum.

The investments by Jason Cohen and Brett Cravatt especially, making them majority shareholders with Andrew Coleman of around 77% (money which we now understand has come from the LLC in the USA) These latest revelations are yet to be commented on by the Swans supporters trust, but we can report this is another dilution including the investment of last month. However, the work the trust are doing generally has been far better and more extensive than we have seen in past years.

If this is the twenty million pounds or so injected into the club on the takeover from Jason Levien and Steve Kaplan then we suppose this record is to be expected. As we have said this is the approximate figure reported by the Swans board last month. In hindsight we wouldn’t or shouldn’t be surprised that any investment would dilute the current standing publicly. What is a fact is when a dilution occurs is that the trust are not diluted down entirely. Their retention percentage of 5% is always taken off the calculations.

So the dilution is always 95%.

We have spoken to an expert in the field of football finance today who seems to agree that this money revealed a few days ago is from the new owners. We know of Cohen and Cravatt, and of course Coleman but it is pretty difficult to see at this time of other investors such as George Popstefanov and Chris Sznewajs are in any form of the mix. There’s also news coming of another strategic addition to the club who will also be ‘vital’ we are told to Swansea City business in 2025. The Profit and Sustainability report which is some months away, believed around June, but this can change, won’t be great reading but we think it will show a reduction on the last two years.

Can the Swans spend freely in January ?

Absolutely not and despite the wealth of the new board members, especially Tyler Morse they still have to carefully work around the guidelines for Championship clubs. There’s no way a gamble will be taken such as Birmingham City this season, the Swans don’t operate like that. We will see players coming in, we think an assessment of four is accurate, and there is a long list of desires, but we all know as well, they hardly come off. This club is going to take a long time to turn around, it isn't a quick fix that’s for sure.

And nobody should believe it will be.

Swansea City to a man : A total unprofessional embarrassment
Swansea City presented another pathetic performance to the travelling Jacks, some of whom had taken seven hours to get to the game today. The lack of effort was almost a V’ sign to head coach, Luke Williams and if that is the case we have some troubling times ahead of us.

Swansea City : Mental agility, toughness, commitment & desire needed this weekend
With the Hull City away game an early kick off this Saturday (12.30pm) MKM stadium the Swans have the usual slim selections to choose from. With Swans head coach, Luke Williams looking unlikely to dip into a form player from the U21 squad it’s very much as you were. By slim we pretty much mean what he had last week.
The absurdity of the EFL when it comes to Swans fixtures
Swansea City will travel on Friday to play Hull City in an early kick off the next day (12:30pm) at the MKM stadium. Hull are based within the East Riding of Yorkshire.
