Swansea City to a man : A total unprofessional embarrassment

Swansea City presented another pathetic performance to the travelling Jacks, some of whom had taken seven hours to get to the game today. The lack of effort was almost a V’ sign to head coach, Luke Williams and if that is the case we have some troubling times ahead of us.

From the start the Swans looked jaded and uninterested, and up against a side that hadn’t won in thirteen they couldn’t even drag themselves to do the basics against a team at the foot of the table. Once again we saw appalling possession of the ball, a full ninety six minutes of losing the ball, giving away possession every ten seconds and no desire to correct it. A completely ineffective performance by players to a man who just do not have the right to wear our Swansea City shirt.

Deal with it.

Lawrence Vigouroux couldn’t have done any better to gift Hull their first win in months. His error which led to the winner was absolutely shocking. Not one of the players today showed any determination, they were completely unprofessional, and again rudderless on the pitch. Matt Grimes needs a rest, he is now game by game giving the ball away. That is leading to the opposition creating chances. Again today he did the same as Hull took full advantage with only the post saving Swansea any further embarrassment. And that word embarrassment is exactly what these very well paid players are, and if it isn’t something they like to hear, well tough. Try being a fan who could take fourteen hours to watch that dross in a Swans shirt today.

I’ve still no idea what Myles Peart-Harris is about. Today you can add the whole team on the pitch. Ronald when he came on was a mere shadow of what we hear is his alleged potential. Franco remained on the bench throughout with Williams preferring a lacklustre Jay Fulton. The only glimpse of hope came from Harry Darling with a superbly taken header to draw the Swans level. But it was totally undeserved. To say the Swans are rudderless on the pitch takes me to Luke Williams. His tactics were found out weeks ago, and last week was the evidence. A similar strategy by Hull manager Ruben Selles easily replicated that today. Swansea City have no answer with a total lack of strength throughout the squad and clearly we have a coaching staff who cannot get their ideas across to the players.

A brief glimpse of positivity in a minefield of utter hopelessness

I’m beginning to think the coaching staff are blind to see the issues, and playing certain players needs to stop. Rumours now circulate of one particular player getting games as there is a financial clause in his loan. Honestly, I really hope that it is just a rumour. There’s nothing to report on other than the Swans goal and a Hull City side which outfought their visitors all game. These tactics at tortoise pace are never going to work. It’s dull, lacks creativity and Luke Williams doesn’t have the players to execute whatever it is that is going on in his head. This cannot continue, and if it does questions have to be raised on the competence of Williams and his staff. Yes, Williams is reflecting Russell Martin in his technique, but he just cannot go on running into dead ends and embarrassing the loyal Swans support like this.

These players have been mollycoddled for the last few years, under Martin and now Williams. If this continues we won’t be seeing him or his staff on the sidelines for much longer. The new investors have already told him they want results and some belief their huge investment deserves. That’s a fact. If anyone disagrees then go and ask him, ask Andrew Coleman, and watch their reaction. This won’t be allowed to continue by the new money we have at the club, they can wipe Williams out in a stroke if this continues.

There is absolutely no way anyone can defend the head coach, his staff or the players. Currently in Bianchini, Vipotnik, Peart-Harris, Ronald and Vigouroux we have average league one players. They clearly aren’t getting it, and obviously couldn’t care. Well, sleep tidy Swansea City FC because these promises of getting better and then presenting the fans with what I can only describe as a utter dog mess has got to stop, or things will need to be changed.

Swansea City : Sorry Luke, but this simply isn’t working
The Swans failed to show up in the Welsh derby and made a mockery of the shirt they were wearing. ‘They may as well have spat on the badge’ was one comment as the fans left the ground. They were so angry, so annoyed and many now see little in Luke Williams remaining at the club. It was a pathetic attempt by a weak willed team to play a game of football.
