Saints Rumoured To Have Agreed Two Deadline Day Deals

The media are claiming that Southampton have agreed deals for a striker, or maybe two if rumours are to be believed, but that could trigger one of two members of the squad moving on themselves.

The first man into the door is said to be Braga striker Vitinha, who since becoming a part of the first team in 2021/22 season, the young forward has scored 14 goals in 42 league appearances, including seven in 17 appearances in the 2022/23 season.

Vitinha has also shone in the Europa League for Braga this season, scoring four and assisting once in five matches as the Portuguese side crashed out of the tournament by finishing third in Group D.

To give him his full name Vítor Manuel Carvalho Oliveira, also known as Vitinha and not to be confused with another Portugese player of the same name at PSG, is very much a centre forward rather than the wide attacking players we have been linked with of late.

He will turn 23 in March and at 6ft will have some aerial prowess hopefully, Saints are said to have triggered his 30 million euros transfer clause, so will smash their current transfer record with the cost in £'s being around £26.5 million.

But sources also reveal that Saints have agreed a deal with Lyon for Moussa Dembele, the strikers value is said to be £18 million but he is out of contract in the summer and Saints are said to have agreed £3 million for his release with Lyon set to get something for the player rather than nothing in a few months time.

At 26 he definitely has the experience and a track record stretching across several European leagues.

However where this would leave Che Adams, Sekou Mara & Adam Armstrong will be the question, Adams has been linked with moves to both Leeds & Everton, but surely we would not sell to relegation rivals.
