South Africa edged a second string Welsh team. That could have been very different. The rest of the north just isn't up to snuff though.

Yes it was wrong, our performance yesterday displayed all those attributes in spades. A couple of refereeing calls and a crucial moment of indecisiveness by a player who is out of form and confidence cost us. We backed ourselves to contain South Africa with a patched up team and weren't quite up to it. That was all to do with them having a better team on the pitch and a deeper squad. Nothing to do with strength, fitness or desire.
The Official Rugby World Cup Thread on 15:03 - Oct 18 with 1223 views | perchrockjack | Yep but it's small margins Andrew. As for dicky...he s taking the list. We have a drinking culture in sport and it shows in these tight games. It's the difference between them and us all. We were sh@gged after 60 mins yesterday. Brave but in the end fitness tells

The Official Rugby World Cup Thread on 15:14 - Oct 18 with 1207 views | BLAZE | F*cking beautiful result, Argies played with the flair and expanse I wish we'd play with - a joy to watch. Dislike the Micks immensely. They have high expectations for serial under performers.... they're just not as good as they think they are

That's because we were in bits. Tough group, so many injuries, it all caught up. But then it all came down to missing a poxy blindside move from a scrum. Wouldn't have enough to compete with NZ anyway. Full strength maybe but not what's left. I do like the Argies though.

The Official Rugby World Cup Thread on 16:00 - Oct 18 with 1113 views | londonlisa2001 | What a brilliant world cup this has been so far. The games have been fast paced, brutal and a mile away from the turgid borefest that we saw too often in those years where everyone was enthralled by Sir Clive's anti rugby crap. Wales by far the best of the Northern teams and with a reasonable amount of luck could have reached the final. As for fitness causing the issues - what nonsense. But European rugby does need to have a good look at why we seem to be going backwards against the Southern teams - Wales have been the only exception really. As an aside, the irony of Perch slagging the Irish people when he spends most of his time praising a city which would be empty if the Irish went 'home' is hilarious!!

On the radio yesterday an ex NZ player summed it up. He said that the Welsh boys would have had a good few pints after beating England, and that would have put their training back a few days. He also said that to have beaten England would be just one game in the NZ players mindset, whereas the Welsh boys saw it as a huge achievement. Never a truer couple of sentences, little things which make the difference between a good team and a great team.
