I've not been around for a little while enjoying Christmas and the new year but been checking in from time to time.
I understand you have banned two Planet Swans legends and why?
I've noticed your over reactions time and time again of late and I think you forget you are the Trust Chairman when you react so. You have repeatedly banned Spratty also and it's all too pathetic.
Don't cross swords with these guys if you can't take it Phil. I've read your comebacks to them and me and sitting in front of the buttons doesn't give you carte blanche to decide who stays or not.
This site would be nothing without its characters and for every person thatgets on your tits there's others that enjoy what they have to say.
You clearly can't take any heat and that worries me in your position especially with big decisions about to be made.
There are posters you let run havoc on here that are universally hated, even by your close friends and associates and there are many a good poster that has left because of them. We've all got the option to ban by simply pressing ignore as you keep instructing posters to do....that is until you lock horns with them, they make you look silly and you ban them.
Grow up, grow a set and don't post if you can't take a little flak. If you allow the likes of Darran, Jackfath and Dick free roam on here you should be man enough to allow Shaky and Parlay.
I look out for these guys posts along with selected others and they make the place worth visiting.
It's petty and childish and you should be above that in your important position, don't forget that.

This thread is about the banning of Shaky and Parlay, the reason for this was clear for anybody on the Ched Evans thread and those reasons have been explained.
saying they trolled, or making up a scenario that they both threatened via PM or indeed that they didn't allow anybody opinions - is just a fanciful make believe stories to justify two pretty shocking decisions.
two people have been banned for having an opinion someone didn't agree with, nothing less nothing more. |
In the case of Parlay I would agree.
Shaky however was guilty of deliberate and personal abuse so the ban is justified. |  |

I agree with the concept of political correctness but not when it is used and abused solely to back up someone's point of view, and a point of view that would change frequently on here depending on who was making the opposing point.

I made absolutely no comment about 'women' on here at all. I simply stated my point of view and explained (in some detail) why I had that view. There are many men on here (probably the majority) that took exactly the same position as I did and you are not attacking them in the same way.
You are criticising me for having the temerity for pointing out when Parlay or Shaky (or any one else) are being misogynistic and offensive towards women for the sake of it (which both of them are on occasion).
You may not find it offensive when there is blatant sexism on display, but I do. I do find it offensive when people describe their dislike of West Ham and find it necessary to call Karen Brady a 'pig' and talk about here 'dropping her knickers' for example (not Parlay or Shaky btw before you start). It's uncalled for and may not seem like much on the face of it but I find it offensive (and most women would).
I equally find some of the comments made on the Evans thread to be incredibly sexist. Ironically, I don't think the most offensive comments were made by either Parlay or Shaky.
If you want my view, not that there's a reason why you should, but for what it's worth, I would (if I was Phil) have banned Shaky for the personal and highly offensive comments Shaky made to him (and it wasn't, unlike what is being said by Skewen about the position on the Evans case, it was about the removal of a poll Shaky set up). I wouldn't have banned Parlay based on what is in the public domain. Although I find some of what he says quite offensive, I don't believe it reached a point where someone should be banned. |  | | |
