There’s a school of thought that says the right to protest has to sit above any other rule so that you can protest that rule.

The gathering wasn’t expressly illegal as it’s not explicitly named as not a ‘reasonable excuse’. You might think it should fall in the COVID rules but the fact is it doesn’t.

I do feel for the police on the ground because as soon as their superiors refused to engage with the organisers it was going to go wrong.

What I will say is that I can’t think of another example of the whole spectrum of the press falling on one side of an issue. Any suggestions out there?

One of my good pals is a copper. If I’d known that word was a magic wind up button I’d have been using it for ages 😉

Indeed it was pen.
It anger me no end when tragedy is used to fuel people's hate at the system that nurtures them.

It is quite sickening but egos and political activists love any excuse -and this is.

This was not any excuse.

A policeman stands charged with murder.
Thats as bad as it gets.

The mob continue to block Westminster Bridge, so no Ambulances can get through to St Thomas hospital from that direction.

Saw one placard written - 'misogyny is the virus'. Made me chuckle, as I imagine it being painted with no sense of irony. Whether the right to protest supplants any current COVID regulations, isn't it just a bad idea at a time like this? Is there nothing else, especially in this digital age, that won't suffice?

I'll have a one-way trip to Andromeda please. 🚀

Short memories,innit.

The the Police were farked off,who does the life saving and the villain catching?

Don't expect the bleeding hearts to get their hands full of blood and guts.

The Police have every right to have abject contempt for the public, goverment and all politicians

He has been charged, and if guilty will answer for his crimes. Seems to me the system is working if that is the case. Laws are there to protect and act as a deterrent. I don't know what else these women expect. Do they want a policeman on every street corner - that's not going to happen. It's not as if the police are murdering women every day, this is a one off

I thoight they wanted to fark the Police. They say they do.
Bearing in mind they also want men off the streets,itAmazingly enough seems the sisters united will have to do it all. Good luck with that .

Labour MPs are backing this idea,as they are getting rid of Police. These are serious demands.

Amazingly enough, these screwballs have the lovely Angela Rayner backing them,A front bench spokesperson.

Be afraid folks.Very afraid.

There are exemptions flash.

They went to court over this and the judge ruled that the Met could speak with the organisers to find a way forward, they chose not to do so.

Again, that is not correct.

They were on the bridge for a short time, and moved immediately when one ambulance came through.

There’s footage of it happening.
