There’s some footage on the other site of an incident in Neath last week where 2 people were slashed with a knife after a disturbance in the Town Centre, incidents like that and the murder of Sarah Everard are horrific and should never happen. The scum who commit these offences should be locked up for a long time and in the case of Ms Everard if guilty the guy should never be let out again.
The Chair of the Met Police Federation said 26 police officers were assaulted and spat at last night, if that’s the case (and I have no reason to doubt him) then it paints a slightly different picture of events. From what I have seen most of the people who attended were well behaved, but it doesn't take many to spoil it for others and there are also reports circulating in the media of chanting, pushing and objects being thrown at police.

Should of all been locked up, there was an online version for people to show their condolences.
That said if it wasn’t for a few left wing types inciting the police it would of been peaceful, you’d swear a few had pre planned it & they should be ashamed they tarnished what would of been a peaceful vigil for the tragic death of a young woman.

The vigil not happening would have been much better but when it did, they needed to handle it better. Yes the police were in a "no win" situation, they quite often are. People line up to blame them for everything, no matter what.
Maybe they should have used their football tactic of filming people, ifdentifying them then arresting them later. That holds the advantage of having footage to release to the media showing anybody breaking the law. | |
