How many spending a fiver to give the lads a big cheer following Saturday's result? Whilst not having the same mega bucks in prize money as the FA Cup the match winners take is £ 20000-00. It would be nice to add this to the £ 30000-00 earned from the group stage.

I'm disappointed to be out of a competition that for me was working quite well as a development platform for the younger lads and fringe players. I think it's helped the continuity of our performances when switching and changing due to injury and suspensions etc.
The game itself was frustrating as hell. I thought we were clearly the better side however poor defending at set pieces cost us the game. We also weren't clinical enough. The defence being the first main problem only Bunney came away with any credibility left. McNulty's sending off was stupid, Harrison and Canavan were both played out of position and it showed!
Going forward it was the lack of energy and effort that meant we lacked goals. RNL, Odelusi, Davies, Hendo, Donal all stuggled.
The positives were 90 minutes for Morley in a competitive match. At only 16 he didn't look out of his depth at all. Jamie Allen back and considering the time he's been out he looked sharp might not be ready for 90 minutes yet though. Donal also got some minutes under his belt.
All in all it was a frustrating night at the office but I'm now looking forward to an exciting tie at the weekend against top of the league.
At little worried that Camps, Raff and Keane all missed through injury!!
Ditto on the disappointment of being out boromat, but no complaint from me.
Throughout this tournament, Hilly has tried a few players in a few positions that is not natural to our eye at least.
Earlier rounds saw Joey T as the main striker. Last night it was Odelusi. Against Nott C it wasn't working, on came Davies. Deja Vue last night. Davis has been rather good for us of late, especially without Calvin.
McGahey at RB was another novel one and again, when used to seeing Raff pounding down the line and linking well with NML, it was not quite the same last night, compliment to Raff rather than criticism of McGahey.
While not liking going out of any completion, I do fully get and respect why things like this are done.
Players learn from such experiments, Joey T has become much better at winning punts up field of late, getting his body in the right place, being physical. McGahey came on at LB at Carlisle to allow Joey B to go up front (replacing Davis)
Camps, Keane, Raff, Rathbone rested, NML half game, Davis half game. Scunny on Saturday, I get all that too.
Allen and Donal given game time, get that too.
I get it all but still one day want to get to Wembley in this comp.
Hilly in interview said we lacked "intensity and energy".......also suggests that McNulty is a thicko for the red card (should know better!)......says the team needed to "bed in" but there were positives as we noted.
Oh and conceding from corner!

Highlights, Stupid kick by Jim - could have been straight red rather than 2 nd yellow. Chesterfield 's red not clear and Evans offside you don't see his position when the ball is played so cant comment. Looks like we had enough chances to win 2 games!
Its a BRILLIANT goal to cap a BRILLIANT start by Rochdale - Don Goodman 26/08/10

Logan looked mighty slow to get down for the second. I thought that Canavan was playing Evans on side, but difficult to really tell.

Thought that about Logan at the time and from behind in the main stand his positioning wasn't great either. Also, although the first was right in the corner, he was pretty leaden-footed.
McNulty was bloody stupid, yet another avoidable red. Had forgotten that Allen chance cleared off the line, really good effort, and Henderson's chance first half was a real wasted opportunity.

Henderson desperately needs a goal - he looks like he's forgotten how to score. When was his last from open play? Bristol Rovers a ?

Like everyone else, I think Conrad was just waiting for the flag to go up. When it didn't, he had to react. I still say Evans was at least a yard offside when the ball was played to him. Most sat near me were amazed that no flag went up and I was in the section of the stand nearest to where it took place, though admittedly, not dead level with play.

Ah right. Not sure why as it came off the defender, still should have got it on target.
Did the defender deliberately play the ball, or did it just come off him? If the latter it is still offside I believe. If defender deliberately plays the ball then it is onside.

Can,t believe that no one,s mentioned the clear back pass to their goalie just before the 2nd goal.
That was comical lycrob, i know the home fans were baying for everything at that time but it genuinely was as clear a back pass to the keeper as you could do, but the ref did nothing.
For once i agreed with the baying. Not that it changed anything in the bigger scheme of things.
I posted last night that the only way Evans was on-side was if Hendo was somehow playing him onside at LB, looking at the video Hendo was well up field at the time.
I was not quite in line with our back 3 but i was more in line than the linesman as the ball was played forward. Comfortable padded seats where the scouts all sit.

well if you dont share the opinions of the cartel running the forum, you can get ganged up on
The cartel? Wow. Who is our Pablo Escobar?
I think you’ll find there are a multitude of threads with different debates taking place on them across the entire forum. Most are an exchange of well-reasoned responses. Some, however, involve puerile input such as “Bunney is shite” or “McGahey can fook off” or “Joe Thompson is stealing a wage” etc. Posts like that are quite rightly rounded on. They offer nothing.
And it isn’t a case of wearing Dale-tinted spectacles. Most posters on here, happy clappers aside, are objective (see the debate around Calvin’s ban as a classic example).

I've posted this before, but there is a difference between not being allowed an opinion and having a different opinion.
When I was your age, I used to enjoy the odd game of tennis. Or was it golf?

Really?
Reading between the lines, it means he isn't happy when he posts something outrageous that people see fit to challenge him on it...... btw I wonder am I in the clique or outside the circle of trust?

There's also a difference between the Clique and those who post frequently
I'm one of the latter, although someone thought that nordenblue and I were part of the Clique a few days back when we ganged up* to disagree with them
* it only takes two people to disagree with someone for them to come all 'victimised' and claim they're being ganged up on - rochdaleriddler being just one example
Stand your ground on your own two feet, ffs, however many others disagree with you - if you believe in what you're posting, and not just trying to wind people up, that is
