A Look At The Vital Games Elsewhere In What Could Be A Pivotal Weekend

The old adage is that you just have to win your own games is currently not the case for Southampton, so where are Leicester City, Ipswich Town and Leeds United playing this weekend, we take a look.

First up for Saints fans is the lunchtime game in the Championship, the 12.30 kick off sees Leicester City at home to West Bromwich Albion, that is a toughie for the Foxes ahead of our visit on Tuesday.

West Brom for their part are on the cusp of cementing their play off spot, they have three games left and are 7 points ahead of Hull who have 4 games left and also Coventry who too have 4 games to play, so defeat for the Baggies would not be a disaster, but it could see Hull if they win at Watford only be 4 points behind with a game in hand.

That means that there is a chance given Leicester's patchy form that West Brom might just do a job, even a draw here would completely change the demographics if we were to do our job at Cardiff.

Ipswich don't have a fixture this weekend so if we were to beat both Cardiff and then Leicester on Tuesday then if Leicester were to fail to beat West Brom we could leapfrog both .
But there is also the matter of Leeds United and they travel to Middlesbrough on Monday night, that will not be easy for Leeds, although Boro could technically still get in the play offs as I write, that hope may have gone by Monday, but they will still be keen to beat Leeds and hopefully will put in a battling performance as they did at St Mary's.

So whisper this at the moment, but this weekend is pivotal, if both Leicester and Leeds fail to win and we get all three points from our trips to Cardiff and Leicester, then we could be top of the Championship come Tuesday evening and our destiny for automatic promotion would be in our own hands.
