News has come out of the club that Swiss Army Jimmy has rejected his contract offer from Dale and left the club.
The 33-year-old returns home to Ireland to join League Of Ireland side Galway United who currently sit 5th in the table, around half way through their season.
Keohane was the club’s longest current serving player having joined in February 2019 from Cork City and in those five and a half years, he’s gone on to make over 200 appearances and played in some of the biggest games in recent memory such as Manchester United away in the League Cup and Newcastle United home and away in the FA Cup.
He scored 22 goals in that time, most of which were from wing-back positions, including a brace at home to Oldham Athletic last October.
Nicknamed Swiss Army Jimmy because he can pretty much play anywhere on a football field, there’s not many positions he hasn’t played for Dale, in fact I reckon everywhere apart from goalkeeper and striker!
As reliable a player as you’ll ever see and has never let us down.
This departure is a sad one for the club.
Go well Jimmy.
