Pellegrino Reveals That Saints Are Looking At New Signings

All those pessimists who have been claiming that Saints are not intending bringing in anymore players this transfer window are way off the mark as Mauricio Pellegrino has revealed.

Saints manager Mauricio Pellegrino has admitted that bringing in the players that you want has not been easy this transfer window with the club having narrowly failed to land a couple of their targets over the last few weeks.

However the manager has not given up hope yet and says that the club are still actively looking for a new signing or two.

Quoted on the Daily Echo

"We are studying the market.

"We have got some options and always we can improve the squad.

"We will keep going and after we will wait to see what happens.”

Pellegrino spoke of his frustrations in the transfer market so far. But that he was hopeful that there would be new additions to the squad.

"The market is difficult, a lot of important teams are challenging for the best players.

"We are confident that someone can come.”

So those who claim that Saints do not intend to bring in a new signing or two are way off the mark, some of those claim that because they believe that the failure of the Chinese takeover to materialise has meant the club could not spend money due to the uncertainty and some say so because despite four great seasons in a row, they cannot accept that the club is getting things right and seem to believe we are on a path to doom.

I'm sorry to end this article on such a note, but the aura around St Mary's for the past four summers as been one of negativity amongst a bigger section of the fan base than it should have been, some almost revel in being able to moan on social media about where the club is going wrong and how it has no ambition.

I can understand why people were worried in the summer of 2014 when we lost a big section of our first team and did not have a large squad to back it up, but now our strategy has allowed us to build a squad and take our club to a level that four years ago we could only dream of.

This time back in 2013 after a year in which we almost went straight back down to the Championship we were not optimistic and perhaps with good reason, now we should be and have right to be, but the air is not one of optiism, but complete negativity, supporters of all the clubs below us last season wonder what planet we are on, they see Saints as an example of what every club outside of the top six aspires too, both in the way we are run, but also what we have achieved on the pitch.

The club can be dragged down by this negativity or the supporters can rally round and get behind the team.

The Manager has spoke that the club are looking to bring in players and quickly, so those who are claiming that we are happy just to plod on with last seasons squad have had their theory disproved.
