Clyne Deal Officially Announced By Liverpool

Nathaniel Clyne has been officially announced as having signed for Liverpool on the Anfield club's official website.

Nathaniel Clyne is no longer a Saints player after Liverpool confirmed officially that they have signed him.

It is a disappointment to lose a player of the quality of Nathaniel Clyne, but Saints fans have to realise that the club's transfer strategy is based on bringing players at a good cost or thorough the youth system and when their price rises higher than their worth to the team then that is the time to sell and repeat the process hopefully strengthening the squad.

Having said that Liverpool have got Clyne at a bargain price due to there only being a year of his contract left to run, but even taking that into account Saints have had some good years from the player and turned him from a Championship player into an England international and in doing so have had good value for money from Clyne and now make a tidy profit.

Parallels can be drawn with the departure of Luke Shaw last summer and hopefully Clyne's replacement Cedric Soares can replicate the success that Ryan Bertrand has had last season.

As I said a year ago it is never about what happens it is all about what you do next and we "did next" before we sold Clyne

Good luck to him in his future career, he was a good player for Saints and unlike at least one of his former colleagues at Anfield he has not made big noises about wanting to go but made the decision he feels is best for him quietly

Whether it turns out to be a good career move for him remains to be seen, Liverpool are a club in turmoil and are signing players left right and centre, they will have an overloaded unbalanced squad run by a manager who employs a scatter gun approach to both squad building and selection.
