Saints look set to make another forren signing only this time its Molde defender Vegard Forren.
Saints seem to be diverting their attention away from Italian central defender Davide Astori and are now chasing Molde's Norwegian defender Vegard Forren.
The central defender who is 24 and won the first of his five caps for the Norwegian national side in 2012 is believed to be due in Southampton for talks today after Saints and Molde have alledgedly agreed a fee.
Forren was up on Merseyside and about to begin a weeks trial with Liverpool when Saints jumped in with their offer, Liverpool informed Molde that they were unlikely to match Saints valuation of £3.5 million at this time, so Molde gave their permision for Saints to talk to the player.
Forren has also been watched by Everton with David Moyes watching him personally on more than one occasion, it will be a coupe if Saints can get him but they will face competition for his signing with QPR also being rumoured to be in the hunt.
However Saints have stolen a march on their rivals for the player who has already turned down Buges in Belgium due to his desire to play in the Premier and the advantage Saints have is that unlike some other clubs they will be able to guarantee him a first team place straight away given the current crisis in the centre of defence.
Sadly though it looks unlikely that he would be available to play at Stamford Bridge unless Saints have rushed through the deal quicker than the media currently know.
