Eyre to be heir apparent?

Man City Youth Team manager Steve Eyre has become the new favourite to be named as Dale manager according to the bookies, having hardly been mentioned a couple of days ago.

There's not a great deal known about Eyre, other than his role at City. He has been with the cash rich club for over five years and his current role sees him in charge of their Elite U-21 team and their U-18 team. Eyre was linked with recent vacancies at Bury and Stockport, and accompanied Liam Gallagher to City's Cup Final win over Stoke City.

Skybet has him down as an evens money bet, though it has to be said that there has been a number of previous candidates who have took the title of Bookies' Favourite.

Dale Chairman Chris Dunphy has said that he hopes to have the new Dale manager named by next Wednesday.
