But if Ramsey is such a good coach......(Traore, Hoilett, Yun)
Total myth about him being a good coach Not seen any evidence whatsoever to suggest that he is Yes Phillips has played well but other than that fcuk all
And Bowles is onside, Swinburne has come rushing out of his goal , what can Bowles do here , onto the left foot no, on to the right foot
That’s there that’s two, and that’s Bowles

I'm in favour of giving CR a go. He wants the job and has a point to prove and isn't just after the money. Perhaps its important for critics of that idea to realise that for every manager since Warnock's promotion season QPR has damaged their reputation and lost its own identity. I see this as a chance to get that back and have players who are part of the club, rather than just taking the money. I would like to see Les and Chris between them find and develop players into something like the legends of the past. Neither of them have had the opportunity to prove they can do it yet, and I would love for them to succeed where meticulous and Redcrapp have failed. Although it will take time and we should not expect to bounce back next season. Anyway if its crap again, at least it will feel more like our crap.

And herein lies my doubts about appointing CR as 1st Team Coach, under 20's, U16's, U17's and employed by the club as Player Development & Academy Manager. He does not have that 1st Team Manager/Coach experience in my book.
Let's look at this another way, where is the club going to find another Player Development Coach with a track record that Chris has and we have been crying out for. Stick to employing people in what they are good at doing, I'm fed up with our club being an experiment at all levels!

If Ramsey does get promoted to manager then expect this guy to take up position of Head of Youth Development....
Longer article from the same journo Darren Lewis. Is there any reason why this guy should be trusted for QPR coverage? I'd usually wait for David McIntyre's contribution before investing any faith in media stories. Seems quite a detailed breakdown of the state of affairs, and there's an interesting suggestion Hill is lined up for a coaching role too.
"What they need to do is clear the decks of the players that have been content to sit on the bench (or not even make it) while still shamelessly picking up their unjustifiably fat wage packets."
"No player coming into QPR this summer will get anything like the kind of salary that some of the wasters over the last five years have enjoyed."
How does he know? Has he seen their payslips? Pure supposition of players salaries.

Not sure we should get rid of every single player

Page 14. Year ending 31 May 2014, staff costs of £75,387,000.
£78,007,000 year end in 2013.
I somehow don't think Ian Taylor or the folks in the ticket office banking large slices of those figures.
Thanks, mine was a tongue-in-cheek response aimed at those attempting to downplay salaries because we don't have access to payslips.
Based on the figures quoted in the accounts the average salary is around £41,500 a week. As you point out these figures includes non-playing staff so the players' average will be higher.

Is that a good CV? 1999 apart, that looks distinctly average, a journeyman's CV.

depends what you are looking for in a cv, he's not been a manager so hardly going to be full of trophies. In the roles he's had all been about developing players and picking up the best young players and he's done a pretty good job in that regard

Not too shabby. Obviously well regarded within football to get the England coaching roles and work for an established premier league team for a number of years helping to bring through players such as K walker,Rose, kane,Bale.

Indeed that's what I tell myself. But then Aidy Boothroyd is now an England youth coach.

Agree, not too shabby at all....at coaching & bringing through youngsters.
That being the case, let him continue to do what he was brought to the club to do and what he's best at and get a manager in to do a managers job.
I really like the guy & hope but I can see this going horribly Pete Tong if true.

Personally... Delighted CR's got the job. Results and player stats put him at least even with 'Arry, even with having to work with players who didn't want to bust a gut to save the season, plus the injury to Zarate.

When Redknapp was in charge the main argument for him gone seemed to be he didn't coach enough and he didn't give youth a chance. This fella ticks both those boxes but now we've moved the goal posts again and want something else. An Experienced man who can put a team together quickly, basically a Harry Redknapp clone
Yeah, but no one's asking for that, are they.
A youngish manager with a good pedigree at lower league clubs or abroad, who the club can really rigorously interview to guarantee as far as possible that this is exactly the man to rebuild a team and club ethos around - this is not Flash 'Arry, this is a long term appointment.
Mind you, Bungle routinely finds himself in interview situations with his pants around his ankles, while mediocre managers play him like Amateur mode on FIFA 15, so maybe we just don't have the wherewithall at the club to assess talent and suitability and make a savvy appointment anyway. If it is the case, and I suspect it may be, that the levels of incompetence at this club when it comes to appointments run deeper than the sh*t stains on the riverbeds of the Walbrook, then okay, this might not be the worst we could get.
But I'm in the with the naysayers. Over the period of tenure Ramsey has proven himself reasonably competent with team selection, but stupidly inflexible at times, and a poor maker of substitutes to turn a match. He just doesn't come over as that sharp, nor that indepedent or strong minded, and I want a manager who can make up for years of poor management, with the balls and basic politics to remodel this club in his own image.
Chaunce the Gardener may prove me wrong after pen is put to paper, but I feel he might be better on the allotment tending the green cabbages, while we look for a once in a generation agricultural expert.
