SaintBrock added 19:49 - Jan 2 Just when you thought things could not get any worse... at a cinema near you soon "Nightmare at Stanley Park" richsaints added 20:07 - Jan 2 Have total respect for any saints fans who travelled so far probably already fearing the worst sorry to be proved correct but forecast trouble for puel at this stage of the season back at his appointment and by the middle of next week the season could be over barring a relegation battle .Puel and the board should go . DPeps added 20:11 - Jan 2 SanMarco added 21:01 - Jan 2 The excuse is we ran out of puff due to 3 games in 6 days. I thought "rotation" was supposed to help with this? We are in trouble now. Puel has lost the majority of the fans and I just don't see how this is going to turn around. Our slide down the table will continue unless we strengthen or make a change at the top. We are not as good as we were but this squad surely should be doing better than this. I was desparate to see the positives after we beat an off colour Bournemouth. The last three games but left me wondering where we are going. vanmans added 23:29 - Jan 2 This has got to be the end of Puel and his relegation expert Eric Black. They are completely out of there depth in the premier league and this rotation system is crap. I said at the start of the season that these two would get us relegated buy not buying strikers. deanosfc8 added 01:22 - Jan 3 Well we are at the stage now the board either sack the manager given time for the new one if quickly appointed to buy a couple of players in the January window or back him. I personally would back him & see where we are at the end of the season, after all we are only a couple of games away from winning our first bit of silverware in 40 years. I don't see relegation an issue, we are mid table at best. If Puel gave us the League cup & mid table at the start of the season we all would jump at that wouldn't we? VancouverSaint added 01:38 - Jan 3 SaintBrock added 09:33 - Jan 3 forallthesaints added 12:03 - Jan 3 What a horrible holiday. Considering we had the worst of any team as far as the fixtures were concerned, I thought for the first half and the first 20 minutes of the second, we were the better of two pretty dull and uninspiring teams. And a word for Maya - apart from one very odd and misdirected pass (it seems there is always one), I thought he had a really good game. Couldn't see the tackle for the penalty so can't comment but apart from that he was solid and calm. The first goal was a lucky bounce after a good save. But after the goal, the heart and stuffing were knocked out of us and it was inevitable that more would come. It might have been different if Redmond had done better with his chance but we'll never know. The thing that concerns me the most about our current form is the reaction of a section of the fans. I'm not suggesting that we should always cheer even the worst mistakes but some guy behind me could say nothing positive about anything and sounded like he was just wishing for a mistake or a misguided pass just to justify his whinging and criticism. Yes, we are struggling at the moment but it's all relative. A few years ago when we were leaving the Championship in the wrong direction, the fans turned horribly and did the "You're not fit to wear the shirt" chant which was fantastically effective. And now, having been spoilt by 7 years of improvement and excitement and Europe and top 4 in the Premier League (albeit only for a week or two) and victories at all the bigger teams, some fans are turning nasty. I'm not happy about the last few games but I'm still going to support my team through thick and thin. There are some (like the bloke behind me) who have very short memories. This kind of season is what we went through year in year out before we went down under twitchy. Some fans are not fit to wear the scarf. I've been worried about Forster's form but would never dream of slagging him off and jeering his kicking - it doesn't help (I thought he was much better yesterday and will get through the slump in form and confidence but needs us all behind him). Rant over. I thought we were unlucky yesterday but we need to get behind the lads and help push them on. 10i added 14:44 - Jan 3 Obviously, this was crap. Two very, very poor teams competing and we manage to concede 3 Goals. There is not much to say about the Players, as I can't think of one even playing average, but how you could see Yoshida having "a really good game"??? He started to Counter attacks with poor passing, he lost the Header for the opening Goal (wich VvD of course would have won), and he put the game beyond doubt with the most stupid tackle I can imagine (a very similar tackle to the one, which could have costed us the victory vs. Bournemouth when he luckily got away with it). So he's very much at fault for two of their Goals - I wonder what he had to do to have a bad game... Puel now had enough time to be judged and I can't think of too many good things. Moaning about the fixtures all the time and telling everyone that Players can't Play twice a week - but then he chooses to Play McQueen twice within three days and leaving out Bertrand, who turned the Bournemouth game around on his own. He robbed the captain of his dream of playing in Europe and as a consequence he got us out of the competition. My guess would be that he "has" to Play the Youngsters - to show that the academy still produces. There's no other reason I could think of why Bertrand sat on the bench, why he "rotates" (in fact he plays two different Teams), why the helpless JWP plays that often. Zlatan, 35 years old, somehow manages to Play all those games, as do most of the Man.U. squad, who are 6th and 15 Points ahead (while there are just 12 Points between the bottom of the table and us. The games are so boring to watch, that there never is a chance of us growing a "global brand", cause noone watching this would ever become a new fan. I criticised RK last year for his sometimes very negative tactics, but that has even become worse. So, I can't help but come to the conclusion, that Puel is to blame for a lot of things that go wrong here. Let's hope we somehow Progress in the Cups as the PL-season is virtually over - there's no way that this Team will have to fight Relegation.
