Just an excuse. If they were top of the league do you think just over 4000 would turn up? And don't you think it's a coincidence that it was game live on TV against a lower league club, when cardiff themselves have been playing shite recently, or do you think only 4000 cardiff fans would have turned up if the had man utd instead.

The article points out that it's only about 1400 less than their last similair fixture, and as you rightly pointed out, the game was live on BBC and in the middle of a busy/expensive festive period.

Hardly rocket science is it!

Aye and the easiest thing to say is I'm boycotting the match.....when in reality no one wanted to go anyway ( apart from 4000 )

You are being a silly Billy now.Cardiff Fans PLANNED to stay away in PROTEST against Tan. Therefore it was a PLANNED PROTEST. Read through those few links again. I can dig out more if you like.

And.... we will get the press to make up stories for us to cover our asses. Also we had 22000 at our last home game 17,000 people didnt turn up because it was cold and on TV. We can make this all up to make it look better for us..... PS Swansea are a re a big Premier league club to me too.

Yeah, ok.

Can you provide evidence of who precisely said "boycott"? Our Trust? Our Supporters Club?

Or was it gobshites on message boards claiming they'd protest?

Still, you know more than Cardiff fans about it I guess. Red the f***er up.

Poll: 94th minute; Medel does Charlie Adam, causing a career ending injury. Do you..

22000 lol not even cardiff fans think they get anywhere near that amount. Do you think only 4000 cardiff fans would have turned up if it had been Liverpool instead. ?

I know of at least 6 people around me who didn't go to the Colchester game. They never go to early round cup games.

Oh wait, by trundle10 logic they must have been boycotting then.

Have a read of the articles Reddy, look up planned then protest in the dictionary. It does not matter who suggeted it or put it out there. I have never said it was an official supporters club protest.

Two of my best mates are massive Cardiff fans and they told me of this well before the game. Fair-play to those who did stay away too. Got people talking about it again.

Sorry. I go that, just being facetious.

Anyway the point being made is;

Were there planned protests to boycott the game? Yes.

Were these protests the main reason for the low attendance?

Fck no!

Riiight....

You do know the media take things straight from message boards, right? If you'd bothered researching your bold claims, you'd know people mooting the idea of a boycott against Colchester had it pointed out to them the attendnace was going to be low anyway - always is for early round cup games against lower league attendances.

Individual choice not to go to a game does not a boycott make.

If we'd drawn Swansea, any of the top six Prem teams there would have been a hell of a lot more people in the ground that night. Possibly even your Cardiff supporting mates.

There weren't planned protests.

To suggest it was planned suggests a degree of organisation. Which there wasn't.

To be fair Red, regardless of number, even if 3 people decided to claim on a forum that they were going to boycott, there is a case to call it planned.

What relevance this has with the attendance though I have no idea!
