e1337prodigy added 17:11 - Feb 2 Townsend impressed me, I don't know much about him but he played well. But here we go again, draw and yet all the teams around are us equaling or getting better results; either we are unlucky that they are beating teams that they shouldn't be (ie Reading beating Sunderland, Newcastle beating Chelsea, Aston Villa almost beating Everton) or they just want it more than our players. So here we are again 7 points from safety (as Reading have better goal difference) exactly what we were about 2 months ago if I remember correctly. e1337prodigy added 17:13 - Feb 2 I keep hearing (or reading) once we get a win we will put pressure on the teams around us, but at the moment they are all winning and putting massive pressure on us. BeauRanger added 19:04 - Feb 2 Certainly a better 2nd half performance than 1st & Zamora provided more presence up front & won plenty of headers. So frustrating to miss a pen' & Cesar had a few important saves to makes as well. Latest in a series of "must win" games that haven't been won. Doughnut added 21:32 - Feb 2 No goal threat and Cesar saving the day, yet again. The rest of the teams around us obviously 'want it more', ours haven't got any 'umph' which is why we're going backwards again. Norwich, at home, all the money spent mid week, bottom of the table by 4 points and only 13 matches remaining. What more motivation does this team need??? Obviously most are in it for the dosh and couldn't give a shit about QPR. We've got players from far and wide banging on the doors (almost literally P.O.) begging to be signed up, to a club that's bottom of the league. Strange ??? I feel as deflated as I did at the start of the season; all the summer signings, expectations high....and then the anticlimax of some of the worst performances I can remeber. Wigan, Reading, Villa, Sunderland...etc all play like their premiership survival depends on it, we don't......and it shows!!! Hanging on against Tottenham, Man City etc won't be any use if we can't put the likes of Norwich to the sword! Lazarus added 21:58 - Feb 2 Am I right in saying that every single Norwich booking was for a foul on Mackie? I was at the match, but can't remember of one of them was for a foul on someone else. We let them dominate the midfield in the first half. SWP was ineffectual, and gave the ball away in daft positions a couple of times. Townsend looked great, and Jenus oozed class. Taarabt should have wellied that penalty instead of placing it. Both goalies played blinders. MelakaRanger added 22:21 - Feb 2 Utterly toothless attack. I couldn't see how we were going to score Adels free kicks, corner kicks generally pathetic as they have been all season. Ceasar stopped at least 2 certain goals. New boys did very well but where are our goals comings from? MelakaRanger added 22:26 - Feb 2 And I think this tells it all.. In 5 of the last 7 matches, the Loft for Words MOM has been Cesar! ( and he did not play in the other 2 matches) snanker added 23:29 - Feb 2 Cesar saved our bacon again with the best open play save of the game while we got a fortunate penalty I thought The ref missed blatant holding on Samba in the area in the 2nd half that should have earned a spot kick. Our Israeli was lucky with his push on Becchio at the death and while all the huff and puff & defensive effort was commendable / solid we looked average again in the final third. Zamora made a difference in the second half but he looks like he could break down again at any moment. Scoring is the name of the game and to be honest we still don't look likely ! Tic,tic,tic......... LostBoys added 02:04 - Feb 3 Overall a good performance let down by poor finishing and defending. The two centre halves look well out of their depth Dennick added 02:32 - Feb 3 I have to agree with Melaka, Adel wastes more opportunities than he creates too often, someone else must take over the set pieces and corners. Good to see Traore continuing to improve, Cesar was brilliant and the new boys contibuted well. All is not lost but we must keep our stikers fit.
