Labour.Day of shame for the party on 11:52 - Nov 1 by jack_lord
So reading between the lines, you do seem to have some interest in politics by the small fact you are discussing these issues and therefore that would be the opposite of apolitical.
Clearly you hate the Labour party which is fine, it's your point of view. There were reasons that unions existed. Many youngster in the lifetime after will thank the fact that unions exist and that the National Minimum wage was introduced.
I'm pretty sure that Blair did more than just send us in to an illegal war. The Conservative Prime minister sent us in to, what many of us shippers, will consider an illegal war in 1982.
No,the Falklands was a case of British territory being invaded literally by another country. The people of the island wanted to remain as they were and requested out help.
There were no WOmd
The falklands another conflict where British men died to save our lands yet our warped left lovers use it to sustain their narrative.
Wonder if your chum e Paul would have demoed against the communist invasions of Hungary ,Czechoslovakia and east Germany..Tanks against people used to perpetuate socialism . To ensure they kept in line ,we saw the likes of the Stasi.
Get to Berlin one day and see what the commies were like and what it was like in a Democratic Socialist State.
Nobody apart from posh public school educated spies escaped to the east.
Plenty died escaping socialism and the strangling of enterprise .
You would be living in a 25 story tower block if you were living there at that time.

Be lucky you have freedom
Yes, it was invaded, we all know that. Thatcher was returned as PM thanks to the surge in nationalism following the conflict. The issue that it was allowed to happen makes it illegal for many.
I am asking you if you think we are all naïve of the effects of communism or socialism and only you know and read history?
When you extol the virtues of freedom and capitalism, does that mean that people should starve because a business owner seeks to maximise profit?

A genuine question but what do you mean it was illegal ,in the eyes of whom ?

Thatcher was returned because the labour vote was decimated by the split to the SDP.
The creatures outside looked from pig to man, and from man to pig, and from pig to man again; but already it was impossible to say which was which.

That also had a major influence on the election but before 1982 according to sources, “No British leader in recent times had been so unpopular” (Garfinkel, 1985). The Falklands was was a huge turning point for her image and fortunes.

and the other 2 times because people saw what unions were all about and it wasn't the country at large.
It' s why Blair announced new Labour-to be more acceptable.,although it wasnt to Corbyn which is why he was binned too.Theme there innit.
People -outside south Wales distrust or simply hate Labour
10,292,354 voted Labour in the General election. That with the idiot Corbyn in charge so maybe your hatred to the Labour voting welshies needs to refocus.

Where have I said I hated "labour".
You can withdraw that.
Corbyn is a hero to many although they have slunk away now when the poo hits the fan.
Corbyn is seen as the only one to bring back real labour to the people.
Corbyn is not the only one responsible for the way some see Labour.
You are from a labour stronghold and you r views reflect that.

Yeah her vote went down in 83 but labours vote dropping 10%+ in key battlegrounds gave her an extra 60 seats. Very similar to 2015 and 2019 where the Tory vote remained static or only increased slightly but the labour vote was split by UKIP and the Brexit party. The notion that her win was due to an increase in patriotism and nationalism following the Falklands war isn’t supported by the data.

If we were having this conversation in many parts of the UK,the narrative would be uttelry different.
Thatcher remains, for me,the greatest prime peace time PM-by a country mile.
I wasn't that keen, mainly because she gave away housing stock into the hand of landlords who made or till make a fortune out of it all.
She gave many the greatest asset in their lives-their home-for peanuts. Unforgivable.
It was not for her to sell the family silver for a song, the housing stock belonged to the state and now there is a housing shortage, people that owned their own homes got nothing out of it, how unfair is that.
Continually being banned by Planet Swans for Porthcawl and then being reinstated.

We are still suffering many years later from her mishaps. A truly evil mare.

Thatcher appealed to people's greed and the English fell for it, national trait perhaps ? Offering tax cuts, cheap shares in nationalised industries, council houses for a song, Thatcher ruined this country.

Not really.till detested in Liverpool.Odd then when they are refered to as bin dippers by fellow Thatcher haters.
We have to move on though.

Who cares what a few sheep who will always vote Labour think, the real facts (in Bridgend) are
The Labour MP not following her constituents views on Brexit
Labours awful handling of the closure of the Ford plant
The Vale is a nice area with a low unemployment rate people getting off their arses & doing well for themselves
One of the reason why the Vale is doing well is that any new manufacturers who are enticed into Wales set up there and contribute a disproportionately high share of economic output in Wales. 1.4 million (45% of Welsh citizens ) live in these these deprived regions in Wales: Isle of Anglesey, Conwy & Denbighshire, South West Wales, Central Valleys, Gwent Valley, Powys. 20 years in power and nothing has changed for the better .

Now,are ALL who vote Tory "scum"
Let's go back to the beginning.
You said you are apolitical. That means you have no interest in politics.
At the moment, you seem to be continually banging your drum about political views.
At the moment, and it is reading between the lines because I can't see your face or hear your tone, you seem to be continually slagging people off for voting Labour because we are welsh and that's what we do.
I will say once again, my views are based on the subject and research at university and not because I am from a Labour stronghold. My brother is from the same house as me and he votes for the Conservative party. His views are based on his adult experience.
Lord_Jack increasingly detached from the riches of kicking a ball
I haven't voted Labour since the mid 80s because I think they are traitors to the working class, they adandoned socialism and became another Tory party (Mrs Thatcher's greatest achievement).

Argentina militarily invaded another state's territory. In what way could that war be defined as "illegal"? Take your time.
