If he gives us 5-6 goals a season it'll be a good buy and an asset to the side. Simple as.
£6.5m is nothing these days, especially for a striker.
Fair point. Although I'm sure all concerned would be hoping for closer to 10 goals, you only have to look at the contributions of Alvaro and Schecter to see how hard it can be to score goals in this league, even 5-6 as a back-up could be crucial.
At his age, with a decent pedigree, £6.5 mill seems a good deal.

He's 21 and so far in his career averages 0.43 goals a game, not bad for a bloke that can't finish.
He's obviously a raw talent. That's the market we're dealing with.
He should be a considerable step up on shite like Shechter, Vasquez and Ngog however.
Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.

Didn't Vasquez come here with a decent scoring pedigree at under 21 level, but we didn't pay 6.5mil for him thankfully, wats the latest on the other youngster we've also agreed a price on, he still waiting for a bigger "club"?
A completely different striker to Bony, Looks very similar to Thierry Henry's style of play from the videos I have seen and don't forget Henry didn't set the world alight at Castaignos' age. If we purchased, for arguments sake- Jordan Rhodes - a good young goalscorer perhaps with the same sort of ability as Castaignos (age, height, goalscoring record also), we would be expected to pay up to £15m for his him. Dutch fans or friends of Planet Swans members can laugh all they want that we spent £6.5m - we'll be the ones laughing when clubs are offering quadruple that in a few years time

Vasquez didnt sign for Inter though. Its a gamble we just need to trust the clubs judgement 6 million is not a lot for a striker these days.
We could go for the likes of Jordan Rhodes or Ross Mccormack but there is little value for money in the Championship.

No he didn't. Vasquez scored 14 goals in 89 games. That's 1 every 6.3 games. Then he scored 0 in 12 games for Swansea. Castaignos much better.
It's just the internet, init.

This move is acceptable if seen as a gamble on a young player, with a mixed track record, who may come good. As a replacement for Bony it would be near suicidal.

He's starting tonight for Holland u21s
Will be watching that out of curiosity. Don't know much about him otherwise.

He actually looks promising and I think I'd be very happy to see performances like he's putting in today, but with a Swans shirt on.
