Let's bring Quincy Promes in as well then!

Seems like the Belgian lad wanted to wait for a better offer so we've moved on. Monk played 4-4-2 with Routledge up top with Bony a few times last season. I can imagine him doing the same next season with Castaignos and Bony. Which I have mixed feelings about. [Post edited 5 Jun 2014 12:26]

We're buying potential, and I'd much rather us spend £6.5 million on a solution to a clear problem in our depth up front then spend £500k or a £1 million here and there on short term options who aren't good enough. Castaignos can play wide, and Bony is off to the African Cup of Nations this season so just because he's our second choice striker doesn't mean he isn't going to play this season. He'll play a lot and should score a few goals. People will need to keep patience with him, but he gets in goalscoring opportunities and will score a lot more goals then our back up strikers of previous seasons.

Michu isn't a striker - he never was really a striker. He's attacking mid and was put in the position of Striker when Laudrup was out of ideas.

Backup striker? People we buy have to be able to play in the first XI. None of this, getting a backup striker on loan, we need someone who is able to do the job — I’m sure anyone we sign will get plenty of game time, and hopefully a few goals.
