I tend to agee.

If this is a foregone conclusion the last thing us supporters need to do is drive a wedge between us and the new owners at such an early stage. Give them time to show us they can fulfill our needs as well as theirs, bash them if they don't.

Don't give them the negative mindset to "f*ck the fans" from the start.

You say that but that is already their attitude with their insistence of having 75.1%+ of the shares.
I do not believe that the Trust cannot stop this sale before the end of the season, all they need is £4M and their “pre-emption rights”.

Trouble is, you don't find 4 million quid down the back of the sofa. You'd need 10,000 fans to contribute 400 quid each. Ouch.

Plus if we got it the deal would be off then and we would eff the the current shareholders off. They want 75.1% as they want control. If you had chucked £100m at it then who would not want the same?
Don't get me wrong. I am not sitting back and letting them wreck the club but let's see how it pans out in the short term first of all.
If we could stop it and keep the Board in side then it would be wonderful. It is not possible though IMHO.

Legend is looking in the bright side and the truth is we just don't know. I don't think mass protests boycotts and 'Yanks Out' banners will be the answer. Having said that I hope we will have a much better idea of what is going on by the Liverpool game. I think a few banner such as 'share buyers beware. This is our club. Do the right thing' would not go amiss. My composition is clumsy but I am sure you get my drift.
Other than that all we can do is suck it and see. Watch what is going on in fine detail and I am more than confident we will be doing that. We can't stop a takeover happening but Hell can still break loose if things start going wrong.

As you say, we really don't know what's on the table; but we've seen enough at this club over the years to be highly suspicious.
The thing is, if the deal turns out to 'wrong' for the fans/Trust, I'd rather protest and try to stop it now. The alternative of holding up sh1tty little banners as we prop up the league in a couple of years time does not appeal.

True. Edit: but part of their game theory is that the Trust can't find the finance to legitimately exercise the preemptive rights.

In effect the Board of "fans" have already sold the Trust & fans down the river with their secrecy and agreeing to 75.1%.
They really are in a rush to sell.

And an up arrow from me. I still say lets see what transpires. We have no other choice other than take to the streets with a 'Petty Out' style campaign. The last time that happened was after a move of madness by TP and virtually everyone could see it as such. We have to hold back until / if the Yanks asset strip. Organise a march now in protest and you would not get 200.....

Whats the point of asset stripping in the P/L, surely that would only happen if we got relegated sometime in the future?.

Well 40k turned up at Wembley. That's without all those watching at home, listening on the radio, etc.
Brings it down to less than £100 each. My cheques in the post ...

Mine would be too, even for the £200.

I am still trying to understand exactly what assets there are to strip?
We don't own the stadium,
There is the academy facility but who would want to buy it?
If some venture capitalists did to rent back to the club then we could just decamp completely to Fairwood whichever is University owned so cannot be sold. Unless our asset strippers at the same venture capitalists who' also control the club so the left hand gives to the right hand so to speak
The other assets are our players .....and much has been written on this forum this season over the quality of such ....as discussed of value maybe 2 or 3 ....in terms of making real money.
So as I say what assets are there to strip?

In fairness i think Fireboy meant if we got relegated. What do you think they would do if we got relegated?

1. Invest, and retain our best players to ensure an immediate return?

2. Sell everything they can get their hands on to recoup their investment?

Coming at it from another angle, what if the trust offered to repay the £4 million to the fans that LOANED (interest free of course) it to them. It may take a few years of dividend pay outs but im sure it could be do able. That way you could loan more than say £400 if you could afford to. Id happily lend say £3k, maybe even £4k on those terms.
Just an idea anyway.
