Swans In For Brazilian Midfielder?
Sunday, 6th Aug 2017 17:27 by Planet Swans (follow us on Twitter @swansnews)

Should Gylfi Sigurdsson complete his move to Everton it seems that the Swans have no shortage of players lined up to replace him, or at least that is what the newspaper headlines would have you believe anyway.

The latest player to be linked is Brazilian midfielder Lucas Lima who would - allegedly - be available for around a £15m fee if the Swans could secure a work permit for the player who has 12 caps for his country.

The former Internacional midfielder is a late developer and has spent all of his career in his homeland.

He first made the Brazil squad in 2015 and scored in a World Cup qualifier against Argentina.

There have been plenty of links for the Swans who could be benefitting from a £40m+ windfall of any sale or Sigurdsson which would give Paul Clement some serious ammunition in the final month of the transfer window.

West Brom's Nacer Chadli and Hull's Sam Clucas are also being linked but it would be a Brazilian player who would capture the imagination much more even if the deal doesn't come out.

How much truth there is in these stories remains to be seen if (or when according to John Harrison) Sigurdsson completes his club record transfer to Merseyside.
