Liz Truss considered scrapping all cancer treatment 23:19 - Aug 27 with 4891 viewsmajorraglan

Several newspapers are carrying reports that following her poorly received mini budget, Truss considered scrapping NHS cancer treatments to save money. To be honest I was stunned when I first read the article in The Independent and thought it was a wind up because April the 1st had passed, but the story is being carried by nearly all the papers. The articles give the impression that things were shambolic under Truss, but it’s staggering that she and some of her team could countenance such a move.

There are obvious cases at both ends of the scale regards eligibility for WFA. But there’s a whole load who fall in the middle who will suffer by not getting it. These people don’t or can’t claim benefits and suffer as a consequence.

My mother who is 90 next week has never claimed a penny in benefit in her entire life, taking on three jobs when I was young to put food on the table. But those who have shirked and played the system can sit back and relax. There are plenty like my mother out there, from a generation who in the main chose to work to provide.

And the self employed rarely go sick
No work,no pay

Poll: Christmas. Enjoyable or not

Labour had better be extremely careful, because if not?.... It will be responsible for creating a devastating "generational change of mindset" that will end up creating an even greater hole in government finances

It is those that have saved and been responsible whom are the very ones that pay for their own daily personal care, nursing home costs, private medical bills, mobility aids like stairlifts etc. By doing so they save the country and taxpayer incredible amounts of money.

So if people are going to be taxed for saving the country billions, to then be told that 40% will be taken upon arrival at the pearly gates then there is very little to no incentive to save at all.

In fact I myself have now decided to take out a few thousand of pounds in cash to pay a tradesman cash in hand to do work for family members; next up I will be buying a £6,700 Gibson Custom Shop Les Paul Custom 1954 Black Beauty guitar.

If those WOKE lefty loons, anti-free-speech Marxists and feckless crackpots think the astute and responsible are going to be compliant to be further taxed to build free social housing for cannabis growing gangs from Vietnam, £2,500 rainbow flags and to fill places like The Welsh government with even more incompetent parasites etc, etc .

Then there is some surprise around the corner that’ll last a long, long time!

Argus!

100% agree with you, the changes need to be thought through properly and that’s not been the case. Lots of people in the middle ground will lose out.

And it's those we need to target I think. And the people who hide money to ensure they can still claim.

Claim PIP , get rejected and appeal it's almost certain you'll get it.

Claim PIP live in a housing association house and they'll help you spend enough so they carry on getting their cash directly from the government even if that is completely frivolous spending.

I genuinely know a carer taking a service user on an all inclusive cruise with a colleague, paid for completely out of the service user's benefits to ensure that the service user doesn't have too much money in her account so her benefits are stopped
