Liverpool Reject Saints Loan Bid For Sakho
Sky Sports are reporting that Liverpool have turned down a bid from Saints to take Mamadou Sakho on loan.
Saints have been linked for a while with Sakho but the stumbling block with the deal is that Liverpool would be loathe to sell Sakho to Saints before the second leg of the League cup semi final is concluded.
Saints would of course like him sooner than that and are believed to have tried to take him on loan at least initially, but Liverpool have turned that down even though they have no intention of playing the central defender and he is no part of their squad after a falling out with Jurgen the German in the summer.
He has been playing for the Merseyside clubs U23 side, but was withdrawn from their game against Manchester United on Monday suggesting that a move to St Mary's was close, Saints would probably have liked him in their squad for the game against Leicester City on Sunday but that now looks unlikely.
Liverpool want a straight sale and nothing else at present, but Saints fans will be relieved to hear that the club are actually looking at a replacement for Jose Fonte who is being reported as in talks with West Ham United.

Swansea City : Joe Low latest & Harry Darling : Behind the news Swansea City will have more discussions from Monday with Wycombe Wanderers over a potential move for centre back, Joe Low. The twenty two year old seems to be the top target of the month for Swans Chairman, Andrew Coleman. There is some leverage on a Portuguese based Brazilian but that’s still in our things to do tray.
A point gained for the Swans : Allen isn’t dead Baggies ! Just over 14,600 attended this game at the Swansea.com. Take away the visitors support and around 13,000 Swans fans were allegedly at this game. Season ticket holders are always included whether there or not and the ground look very bare. If there was eleven thousand home fans at this game I would have been surprised. That’s a good few thousand who have stayed away this afternoon. And well down to what we could have expected on the last Saturday before the majority return to work on Monday.
Swansea City v West Bromwich Albion, plus Villa winger out of reach This morning we focus on a game which has lost itself to what we can call ‘football fatigue’ Especially after some of the extraordinary fall out after Luke Williams press conference yesterday afternoon. Unbelievable nonsense on one of the other websites, faceless, nameless and very obsessive.
