Tonight will give Swansea City followers a big clue as to where Joe Low sits with regards to the clubs who are in for him.
Wycombe Wanderers play Huddersfield Town tonight at Adams Park (weather permitting) and if that goes ahead the inclusion of Joe Low or not will give an indication as to how far interested clubs have gone in securing his services. As we know if negotiations are at the point of concluding or looking like they will over the coming two days or so then the buying club will most certainly not want to see him play tonight. The latest we have at the time of going ahead with this report was the Chairboys have had their undersoil heating on for the majority of the day despite overnight snowfall. The pitch is playable but temperatures can drop to minus three tonight.
It is looking more than likely that this game will go ahead. Before we go on we need to reveal that today Wycombe Wanderers signed, Sonny Bradley a centre back from Derby County for the rest of season on loan. A clue ?
The big question for Swans fans has to be will Joe Low be included ? If he isn’t that’s a clear indication he could be moving shortly, not necessarily to Swansea, but we know he is very keen to do so. Playing alongside a number of Wales full internationals will most certainly increase the awareness of Wales manager, Craig Bellamy, plus albeit a Cardiff lad he will be back in Wales. If this does happen he could well be forming a centre back partnership with another Cardiff born player, Ben Cabango.
Makes perfect sense.
We have tried on several occasions today to get some source updates but the quietness is deafening. All we know is that Swansea City are finding negotiations difficult. That could be down to their plan to negotiate instalments with Wycombe as financial fair play is hitting the Swans hard to an extent. Wycombe are in a reasonable condition financially and as a League one club they have to comply to a different standard to Championship clubs.
They have to comply with what is called, Salary Cost Management Protocol, this means League one clubs can only pay sixty percent of turnover on wages and transfer fees. League two is in and around fifty percent. So, that leads us back to the game tonight. If Joe Low isn’t in the squad at all, that’s a big clue as he is an important player for the Chairboys. If he is we can reasonably guess that negotiations are not that far ahead for the Welshman. Of course if fee’s have been agreed it could well be Wycombe who will be reluctant to play him. Either way it’s a big indicator this evening.
Update, Joe Low was selected and played for his club last night.
