BJB Day 52

Leigh Puts The House Under A Monopoly

Home > Story Index >Day 52 In The Big Jack Brother House

13.07.03 - 10.17am - The housemates are all up and Leigh has been called to the diary room. Today it is his turn to receive the treat which will act as the activity for the group for the day. He chooses to receive a Monopoly set for the housemates to play.
13.07.03 - 10.44am - As the housemates wait for the set to turn up, Leigh canvasses the other housemates to see if he can raise his starting stake in the game. Sadly for him his "Loot For The Boot" campaign falls on deaf ears.
13.07.03 - 11.17am - The monopoly set has arrived. The housemates settle down for the first game of the day. Leigh chooses the pieces for the housemates, he decides that Myra should be the Old Boot, Jason is the Ambulance (well actually it's a car but some of Myra's lipstick and it soon has a red cross on the side), James is the top hat (what else?), Leigh chooses the Iron (as he explains that the trust ironed out the differences between the club and the fans) and Leon is asked to represent himself on the board.
13.07.03 - 12.24pm - The game has started slowly. The reason for this is that Leon went first and immediately landed on Chance. However, he is refusing to let anyone else have a go until he can read the card out himself. So far it has taken 73 attempts and he is only on the first line.
13.07.03 - 1.17pm - Myra is now refusing to take another turn until Jason retracts a comment he made after she landed on Community Chest. Jason said "You can dream about a community chest" and Myra has taken great offence at this remark.
13.07.03 - 2.23pm - Leigh is causing resentment amongst the group. Every time he passes go he is looking to collect the £200 plus an additional £200 in vice chairman costs. He claims that the expense of running his iron entitles him to that money plus the constant medical bills that he is paying towards Jason's treatment.
13.07.03 - 4.19pm - Leon is the first person to be able to build hotels. Sadly, he must have had Swansea Council involved in the planning for them as he manages to do another 10 laps of the board before they are built.
13.07.03 - 6.27pm - Jason is close to being the first person out of the game. He is down to his last £50 and is coming up to Leigh's house on Park Lane (paid for from the extra £200s he keeps collecting) One throw of the dice and Jason lands on the square. He hands over all his money to Leigh and walks away from the game, tripping over the sofa in the process. He asks if anyone has built a hospital as yet.
13.07.03 - 8.12pm - James is second man out of the game. His attempt to lob the hat over Leon's four houses on Bond Street fails miserably and he has to hand over all his money and join Jason at the dining table.
13.07.03 - 9.44pm - Myra retires from the game despite having plenty of money left. She has landed on a 'Go Directly To Jail" square and is forced to retire when she says that the shame of 'doing time' will finish her with the W.I. As a result Leigh and Leon force her to leave the game.
13.07.03 - 10.27pm - Leon looks odds on favourite to win the game until Leigh bribes him with a years supply of Jelly Babies if he lets him win. Leon agrees all too easily and sells all his property to Leigh for £5. It is only a matter of time before Leigh destroys Leon and he does within ten minutes.
13.07.03 - 11.44pm - The housemates head to bed with Leigh stashing all his money under the pillow before he goes to sleep. At the end of this week, one of the remaining housemates will become the eighth person to be evicted from the house - you can decide who by casting your vote using the form below.
