Cabango wants to sign plus Burnley v Swansea pre match

Swansea City head coach, Luke Williams spoke about the game ahead at Turf Moor, Burnley on Sunday (3pm) This before the announcement that Jason Levien and Steve Kaplan were to leave the board along with Jake Silverstein.

Welcome to our Saturday morning breather (deep breath) we have included links to this game plus recent events to mull over whilst you have breakfast or indeed lunch. We respect the fact that some of you are on nights. Tell you what, let us get on with it.

Lost in the reports over the past two days has been notification that Ben Cabango (below) is keen to sign for the Swans with an improved offer. Apologies, but it happens. This has been confirmed by Luke away from the edited Swans TV trailer to Sundays game. "Ben has really taken the initiative and he’s kind of setting the parameters in a really good way. The message is he has to concentrate on the block of games before the international break and then the conversation will carry on. We’re in a much healthier position because we have dialogue between Ben, his agent and the football club in a respectful way. There is a two-way conversation, and it is at a really good level”

That aside we can disclose conversations haven’t taken place but will do the week after next. That’s our understanding. Harry Darling unfortunately isn’t anywhere near an agreement, but his agent will also sit down with club Chairman, Andrew Coleman around the same time. The general feeling is that Harry has had his head turned by what is on offer elsewhere. And if he prefers to leave in June it could well be for a far higher salary than he can get at the Swans. Of course if the unimaginable happens, and the Swans manage to get promotion it still leaves him open for talks. January isn't a deadline month, he could sign at any time. Especially if some of the twenty million dollars investment that Coleman refers to is used to boost the clubs financial spending on the pitch. That’s to come of course, but Ben is clearly trying to get something sorted with his agent.

That’s what we know this morning.

Our first issues as a website that prides itself on research and delivering well sourced news is the current injury crisis. Sam Parker is a concern, he broke down in training three weeks ago according to our information, and will be out for around three more weeks. That’s concerning when you apply the Josh Ginnelly situation, a lower leg injury that isn’t responding that has kept him out for fifteen months. Jay Fulton we understand is around three weeks away, Ollie Cooper won’t reappear this year and Eom is expected to be in some form of conditioning training by early December.

Josh Tymon returns on Sunday, and his pace going forwards with his determination will be welcome. Millwall manager, Neil Harris commented yesterday that the Swans are the hardest team to beat in the division. (Let us be honest here they should have been battered twice over) Intricate passing and ever changing angles of attack are the most admirable part of the Swans game. That’s exactly what we need to see on Sunday, with goals.

On Thursday we delivered a report on the two clubs and their issues for this weekend.

The Swans started this run of games after the last International break with some very concerning results. The lack of goals both before and after the break nearly set records, but we’ve seen a more impactive Swansea City over the last few games. However this is no time to get carried away.

What do you think this weekend ?

Swansea City : Go for number one, save time looking for second best
We had had a good look around the latest betting on the next Swansea City manager. Basically the bookies in this market are generally far off the mark when it comes to Swansea betting. They wheel out a few anomalies like Russell Martin who would never return to the club and prey on fans hope more than sense.
Luke Williams : The Swans just need to stop making the same old cheap mistakes
Despite the wait - when it became apparent that the new Swansea investment team pretty much had enough of Luke Williams, the Swans head coach, the inevitable happened. A brief wait had to be taken when one of the Directors was dealing with a family funeral, it soon turned to a green light yesterday afternoon after a decision was made on Sunday.

We can only review one thing from yesterday’s game at Stoke City. To have to spend the focus it takes to put together and edit a report, ensure the licensing and stats are correct, takes time. So this morning we thought we would take the option that it seems Swansea City take while the club drops towards League One.

Swansea City seem to have recruited a smooth operator in Richard Montague. He is now at the club in an official capacity. So, what does he bring and what are his strengths ? After all he assembled a Notts County squad which at their level gave the club and its supporters something to be really proud of.
The crazy spiral the Swans find themselves in : Stoke City pre match
Swansea City will be travelling north from west Wales today in preparation for tomorrow afternoon’s away fixture against Stoke City. It’s a must win for both sides who are quite frankly dreadful over their past ten games, so much so they are both right in the relegation mix.
