BJB Day 48

The Housemates Tackle The Assault Course

Home > Story Index >Day 48 In The Big Jack Brother House

09.07.03 - 9.32am - All of the housemates are up. In less than two hours they will be tested on the assault course with the winner receiving a surprise from the outside world. The 'serious' contenders are warming up in the garden whilst Leigh prefers the option of smoking a fag outside the diary room.
09.07.03 - 11.04am - First onto the assault course is Myra. She negotiates the running through the tyres easily enough but comes a bit of a cropper on the climbing net when she misses her footing and has to be rescued by the other housemates. Big Jack Brother calls her attempt at the course null and void.
09.07.03 - 11.23am - Next up is Leon. Big Jack Brother has agreed that he can have a leg-up onto the climbing net which he then climbs with some ease. The scramble net is even easier for him as he can just run under it whilst most of the other housemates will have to crawl. The balance beam is negotiated with some ease although Leon is so light the beam actually remains perfectly balanced at all times. The other housemates believe that Leon has set a time that will be very hard to beat.
09.07.03 - 11.39am - Peter Owen's chances of winning are dashed when he moans that he should have been able to do the course first exclusively and his moaning causes him to lose valuable seconds at each obstacle.
09.07.03 - 11.54am - Leigh is equally unsuccessful at the course, stopping half way round for a smoke was not a good idea. He rues the missed opportunity as well of starting a 'Old Pennies For Obstacles' campaign.
09.07.03 - 12.17pm - Jason Smith is the penultimate person to complete the course. His time is nowhere near that of Leon's but he does manage to obtain more cuts and bruises than anyone else as he makes his way around.
09.07.03 - 12.42pm - The favourite to win the assault course is James Thomas. He is well ahead of Leon when he comes to the balance beam. Sadly he makes the fatal mistake of deciding that his first two crossings weren't spectacular enough and he crosses the third time finishing with a triple somersault which as impressive as it was sadly leaves him three seconds slower than Leon who is crowned the winner. Big Jack Brother asks the housemates to move to the sofas so that Leon can receive his prize.
09.07.03 - 1.18pm - Leon's prize is a message from the outside world. As the plasma screen kicks into life, the image of Leon's mummy appears. She is holding his favourite Action Man and reads from Leon's favourite book - Thomas the Tank Engine and Friends. Leon is so excited when the message finishes that he wets his pants. He has also decided that from now on, James will be known as Thomas The Tank Engine.
09.07.03 - 10.14pm - The housemates are tired from the physical activity of the day. They all head to bed. As well as James being called Thomas the tank Engine, Leon now calls the housemates Myra The Grandmother Engine, Leigh the Likeable Engine, Peter the Purple Engine and Jason the broken down engine.
09.07.03 - 11.13pm - It's the end of the 48th day in the house. In just two days one of the housemates will again be evicted - you can decide who by casting your vote using the form below.
