BJB Day 24

The Housemates Receive Their Fourth Weekly Task

Home > Story Index >Day 24 In The Big Jack Brother House

15.06.03 - 9.18am - All of the housemates are up. Today they will be given their fourth weekly task and they are having a discussion as to what it is. Nick believes that he heard a discussion outside the house which suggested that they will have three days to get two of the chickens to mate. Peter Owen (the resident chicken expert) tells Nick that it wouldn't be worth most of a gamble as the chickens are all female. The housemates then spend twenty minutes explaining to Leon how chickens lay eggs.
15.06.03 - 10.42am - It's time for Leon's nappy change and as usual Myra volunteers to do it. John Williams makes a crack that Steve Watkin should make the change as Brian Flynn always used to say "Get Watkin here, time to change the little sh t"
15.06.03 - 11.14am - One of the housemates is called into the diary room to receive the weekly task. Myra volunteers and leaves the diary room with two envelopes. She has instructions that the housemates can open only one of them and that will decide their task. Leon plays his usual eeni-meeni-mini-mo game to work out which one to choose.
15.06.03 - 11.17am - The housemates realise that they have made a mistake in asking Leon to read the card despite all the help that James Thomas can offer him. John Williams takes the card and reads the task to the housemates "This week Big Jack Brother will provide you with a bike. The object of the task is to teach Leon Britton to ride the bike unaided for five minutes by Wednesday."
15.06.03 - 11.32am - The housemates decide to gamble just 40% of the shopping budget for next week after Leon Britton tells them that he has never taken the stabilisers of his current bike. The bike is delivered to the BJB House.
15.06.03 - 12.14pm - Jason Smith is giving Leon a cycling lesson in the back garden. After one successful lap of the garden (by Jason not Leon) disaster strikes when Jason falls off and cuts his knee. "That'll be two weeks out" he says
15.06.03 - 3.58pm - Whilst Leon reads up on riding a bike, the housemates use the fact that they have a cycle for a cycling competition in the BJB Olympics. Sadly, the competition comes to an early halt when Peter Owen gets on the bike and flattens it. It's a sheepish Peter that walks into the diary room to ask for a new one.
15.06.03 - 5.03pm - Leon is putting what he has read into practice. He has read that if he holds a plank of wood in each arm then it will give him balance to rid the boke of the stabilisers. This plan soon goes to pot when he realises that he cannot even pick up Steve Watkin or John Williams let alone hold them.
15.06.03 - 7.42pm - James Thomas suggests the bike may work better with just one stabiliser and move forward gently. The theory works but Leon Britton is caught in a permanent circle.
15.06.03 - 11.14pm - With the remaining housemates in bed, Myra is pushing Leon round the garden on his bike. There is a clear relationship forming between these two although Myra is a bit put out when Leon keeps referring to her as his 'great granny'!
