I watched the last episode of line of duty and thought that was good. Undercover has finally grabbed by attention. I quite like some of the investigative programmes Stacey Dooley does. However I can't wait for the next series of people just do nothing.

Finished it.
In the end if it doesn't glorify the IRA, it comes very, very close I'm afraid. It's very well made, but uncomfortable viewing, for that reason as well as for the violence.

Just watched the first episode of Senna on Netflix. Only 6 episode series, but each is over an hour long. Starts from his early karting days in England in the early 80s.

Any fans of F1, I think, will love it.


Cheers for that - loved the Senna film by Asif Kapadia (who also did the Maradona and Amy Winehouse films - all recommended)

After the Party on Channel 4. Superb New Zealand drama, the acting is incredible, a difficult watch at times, but a definite must see.

The acting is incredible - all the main characters - OMG Olly, brilliant script but such a hard watch not what I would call entertainment but it will stay with me for a while.

I’m 4 episodes in and it’s not really done it for me.

Maybe because of the NZ accents as everyone sounds like they’ve had their tongue pierced

Bit of a Canadian Fargo, I suppose. It has the excellent Margo Martindale, who I only really knew from The Americans and Justifed, but she’s great in both, and also Nigel Tufnell’s less famous wife.

Enjoyed the film of the same name so expected a bit more meat on the bone with the story being split over six episodes. In the end six wasn't enough as they were constantly skipping past years and that's a shame as there was so much more that could have been included.

For example, there was next to nothing shown of his dedication to improving the car and how he physically drove it differently to everyone else. All that being said, it was very good and he's still the Messi of F1 for me. Such a shame that he had to die before substantial changes were made to driver safety.

*Edit* Putting on my little pedantic hat. The credits average out to around 12 minutes long and if you cut them out, episode four is only 40 minutes and episode six is 46 minutes. The rest fall short of the hour so, yeah, I know, I'll take the hat off now. 12 minutes of credits though, wtf!

Adaptation of a book of a true story from late 90’s in Canada
Some interesting diversions off from main story and quite shocking all this could go on in fairly sleepy towns. Also made me realise the whole world has had feral kids and nutters in it for decades

I haven’t but Mrs Sheen loved it.

On other matters ecclesiastical, Wolf Hall had a happy ending with that thieving Putney heretic getting it in the neck. Fantastic writing and performances.
