after our dissapointment at plymouth today, i thought i'd start another music thread. ska fazed out for me in the early 70's, could'nt get into pop, so rock it was. anyone else get into this.
I met him once in the Klubfoot Hammersmith on a St. Pats night shindig. He was drinking green lager and had a green condom as an earring. Cait O'Riordan & Elvis Costello were there too, along with most of the Pogues. It ended up as a cross between a jam session with artists getting up and down to play all night and an acapella karaoke. I don't remember too much about it but a great night out.
He and four or five of his pals came into the Green Man, Wembley one night, they were on their way to a gig at the Arena. I recall being embarrassed by the arse licking from one of my drinking companions, yes Steve Moyse, if you're reading this, you were a total prat that evening.
Brilliant heavy rock , but what a songwriter.Every time i head down to HQ from the chilly north I play Southbound, just pure class . Lynott , Gorham , Robertson, Downey the ultimate lineup. I feel a something in my eye moment.Lynott out on the piss with Stan, theres a seventies moment

Ive got Southbound on my Matchday Drive playlist as well. its an excellent track which usually plays going over the therwall viaduct and is followed by this Motorhead track also with Robbo
My all time favourite heavy metal piece. On my last day in one school about 4 years ago, I put this on full blast for my second years, got them to move all the tables and chairs, go down on their knees and let rip with their air guitars! The Principal came in half -way through and left again - I was unsackable!! In my current school, the new year has just began. The students and I are all masked up and each desk is precisely one metre apart so can't dare be touched - different times indeed! Was at a brilliant Pogues gig - fronted by the one and only Shane MacGowan - back in the eighties. It was the only gig I was ever at where the band were more p1ssed than the crowd!!

Smart.Dancing on your grave is a great track but dodgy production
Lizzie for me. Lynott was a genius. Waaay ahead of his time and sadly gone much to soon. 'Boys are back in Town' my personal nomination, but IT limited, so can't link video here
I only discovered the other day that Phil Lynott was Leslie Crowther’s son in law.
