I've always seen him as someone who is solely out for himself and would have done anything to safeguard his own future, raising the Pakistani flag so soon after all the convictions in the rochdale sex ring case to gain a few more votes was bad taste and shouldn't have happened. he's a politician for rochdale and doesn't need to go all George galloway to secure votes .

I believe so yes

is there anywhere online with the boundary changes? My local council ward shifted boundaries a few years ago so literally one side of the street is a different boundary. On e safe labour other safe Tory. I believe Littleborough used to be saddleworth constituency and a fairly safe Tory seat wonder if that will happen again.

These were the proposals from last time. Not sure any have been proposed yet, but could largely be based on these 2012 proposals.

As far as SD it will all depend on whether the local party passes a no confidence motion in him and national party has the guts to finally get rid of him. He will only though lose his seat if he resigns , dies or loses an election.

If he dies in a car crash whilst escorting the Duchess of Cambridge in the back seat of a Merc going through the Mersey Tunnel, #conspiracytheorists will be in their element

Don't think the Duchess would want to be anywhere near him, however the chances that he will one day crash his car while being under the influence, are there.

Wouldn't surprise me if KD didn't have some influence in this.

I see your friend Mick Coats has asked for a thorough investigation in all things danczuk by the labour party. If you were to receive a full apology from the hierarchy would you consider joining the party and becoming active again?

Simon Danczuk part 74 on 20:09 - Jan 1 with 3673 views1mark1

I will be honest and say that a lot would need to happen for me to rejoin. There are still people in the local party that are still around that I would not want to be around unless a full apology from them was obtained for their actions. At the time of my expulsion I had been a member for 25 years including being a regular volunteer bar person and committee member for all that time at Rochdale Labour Club. For my service I had been made a Honourable Life Member, not being reliant on me still being a LP member. However people around SD manoeuvred for me and others who had supported us, to be stripped of this, but to get it through they scrapped having Honoury memberships altogether, so people who had kept the place afloat with UNPAID voluntary work like me were no longer Honoury members.

Added to all this, I am very happy to be in the Green Party, as a socialist, environmentalalist, etc I feel at home, and there is no infighting or backstabbing. I therefore can't see myself leaving the greens any time soon. I do, and will work with people in other political parties and none , including LP on various causes.

Justo add, Mick as well at the moment still sees himself as being happy in the greens, while the others are not in any party . Not too sure if any f us will return to LP.

Time to order more popcorn- this should be most entertaining! Little is more enjoyable than watching the local Labour Party in full-on "rats in a sack" squabbling mode.

Have I got this right? Rochdale LP / Farnell chapter supports Danczuk, Heywood and Middleton chapters don't. But now maybe some of the SD supporters in Rochdale are starting to have second thoughts but still don't get on with the Middleton and Heywood chapters (led by Colin Lambert who didn't want to give up being Leader). Meanwhile, there are 7 former Labour members who were thrown out of the party for criticising the selection of SD in the first place who want their sackings reconsidered in the light of the latest SD scandal. Not to mention that SD seems to think his Parliamentary leader is a Wally of the first water and unfit to lead, a notion presumably not backed by any of the local Party, well not in public (yet) anyway. Given that, they can't get rid of SD for another 52 months or so unless he resigns of goes under a bus, this is the gift that will go on giving. Oh, and Rochdale will become even more of a laughing stock.

Farnell doesn't trust or like SD, but did use SD to help secure the backing of some of SD,s close Cllr buddies to get the leadership of the Lab group.

Danczuk now on the front page of the Sunday Times, threatening to sue his first wife (Sonia Bonnington) for false allegations of sexual misconduct against her. She's threatening to sue him.

Karen manages to get her picture in the article though, wearing boxing gloves.

The town's stuck with him, like sh*t on a shoe, until May 2020.

At most, he'll be asked to pay back the cash. There'll be no prosecution, and even if there was he could continue as an MP until the next general election (like that Scottish MP, Eric Joyce, who carried on after being convicted of several drunken assaults, including attacks on other MPs).

Hopefully there will be a full and proper investigation as to whether fraud as occurred here. Added to this his ex wife is being investigated by the common's authorities as allegedly when they visited the constituency office she wasn't there as she should have been working, on two occasions.

Maybe he will be jailed like, other parliamentarians were for expense misdemeanours, if so he would automatically lose his seat. A few in the local party's leadership are still backing him at the moment, let's see if they do if he gets sent down.

What jurisdiction do the Commons have over his wife ? None is my bet, because she isn't a member.

If the Commons do their job properly, they will refer the allegation to Scotland Yard and let the matter be properly investigated as a crime.

It's not really for the Commons to determine guilt or innocence, but they should make sure that it is handled promptly and properly.
