Bagging Bury Midfielder?
If the internet is to be believed, Dale are on the verge of announcing Brian Barry Murphy as their first signing of the Summer.
This story has been doing the rounds on the other side of Jericho for a week or so now, with speculation that the former Republic of Ireland U-21 midfielder has signed a contract with Dale following the expiry of his contract with the Shakers.
He has been offered a new deal at Gigg Lane, but the suggestions are that Barry-Murphy, who is 32 next month, is set to reject this offer and sign a one year contract with Dale.
The Dale management duo of Keith Hill and Dave Flitcroft have been long time admirers of BBM's services, and reportedly failed with an attempt to sign him in the Summer of 2008.
Of course, the internet rumour mill has seen us sign Marc Pugh, Michael Symes, Stephen Dawson, and Rob Burch - all of whom have put pen to paper elsewhere, with further links to Jean Louis Akpa Akpro and Jack Redshaw.
