New kits around the world 2017/18 18:13 - Apr 27 with 61555 views442Dale

It's been surprisingly quiet on the new shirts from so far, but they should start appearing more regularly now.

Liverpool

Similar to the classic strip from the 70s/early 80s (see below), which is good, however it's let down slightly by the red trim in the collar and the New Balance logo not being in gold like the badge. Verdict: 7/10, always a fan of kits which reflect those used in the past.

Edit: With shorts and socks:

0.5 off the Verdict score for having white turnovers on the socks, especially with the shorts being so plain. Jarring.

Anyone know of any others? Stick them here.

Torquay have a new badge. I much prefer this to their previous one, although that one at least matched their colours more.

Just saw this tweeted. Presumably it hasn't already been posted based on the time stamp.
Apologies if you have to hit play. It plays automatically in Twitter.

I think Hull Kingsto Rovers played in that strip afew years back...maybe it was a second strip. I. think hoops belong in rugby, though Id allow a pass for teams with long traditions of hoops. like QPR and Hamilton Accies.

The usual amount of thought and innovation from Nike.

Can't help but feel those kits are once again let down by the huge bright red sponsor.

Apparently the shield has been brought back to 'protect the cockerel in it's year away from White Hart Lane.'

More the Admiral kit from further back in time as mentioned in the article. I had that shirt!

8/10, yet more proof that Errea offer more unique designs than anyone else. If you ask them of course.

That Villa away kit is fantastic. I'd love that as our away kit, obviously with blue replacing the maroon/claret.

I quite like the design of the St Pauli kitn which could easily be used as a template for Dale kit. Replace the White with Blue and the Red with White and I think you would have a decent home shirt.

Verdicts...

Watford away: 2/10, it's a totally ridiculous adidas template but they could have actually saved it by sticking to the club colours and having yellow stripes and trim. But they didn't so they can go to hell, the part where the template devil is in charge wearing that two-tone Nike abomination.

Hull: 9/10, really like that interpretation on stripes, not sure I can remember many other instances where they've been of a similar width, and the way they've been used on the sleeves is clever. We'd sell loads in that style.

Leeds: 1/10, hahahahaha. It's a Swansea kit, you idiots.

Villa: home 6/10, far too many lions dotted about. Away 8.5/10, really like the design on that chest band.

United: 8/10, solid and the black trim cannot be overlooked. So I haven't.

Chelsea/Spurs: so you sign massive kit contracts and end up with the same shirts in various shades of blue and white? 1/10 for being lazy and only seeing the bank balance.

At some stage I'll do a table of the scores and possibly include a few that have not had a verdict yet. Yes, I know, you can't wait.
