Season ticket v Steward 11:05 - Feb 8 with 15981 views | shandyjack | I leant my season ticket to my grandfather like I always do when I'm away in Lindon with work and never Ben an issue, yesterday though some woman steward decided to confiscate it off him. Anyone else ever have this issue? [Post edited 8 Feb 2015 19:45]

Season ticket v Steward on 22:02 - Feb 8 with 1997 views | MattG | Someone mentioned earlier the booklet that was sent out with the Season Ticket - just dug mine out and, in a section listing the benefits of "THE NEW TICKETING SYSTEM" it states the following : "Provides a 'pass on/ticket exchange' service for supporters; - Pass the ticket onto a friend for free - Sell the ticket at full or discounted rate" So maybe it's the Stewards rather than us punters who don't understand the rules. I have already arranged for a friend to take his 13 year old son to the Man United game using my two Adult season tickets as I can't get there myself. As he's a 6'8" ex-copper, I don't suppose there will be a problem but I will be handing him one of these Season Ticket booklets to take with him, just in case.

Maybe we should all tuck that into our season ticket wallets to be produced as and when required.

Season ticket v Steward on 15:33 - Feb 9 with 1747 views | shandyjack | quick update - Received a call from the TO today. They had no idea why they were handed in 5 season tickets this morning, i had to explain it was taken off my grandfather and gave the reasons he was given. The man was flabagasted that this situation had happened and really apologetic. There is now an internal investigation to find out who the stewards were and why they took this incorrect action and also the manor of the way they dealt with my grandfather. Needless to say he was very apologetic and is sending out my ticket first class straight away. He confirmed what we all thought was the case, you can pass on tickets to friends and family if you are unable to make it, seems some stewards are unaware if the workings of the ickets. Alls well that ends well

Season ticket v Steward on 16:00 - Feb 9 with 1706 views | jacksinceever | I have to say I have stood buy the club and the rules on many issues. However this stance against supporters who are allowing another to attend in their place (adult for adult or adult for oap makes no odds) makes me believe the club is get more small minded as it get's more successful. Drifting away from being a club belonging to the supporters . Edit - nice to see the update from Shandy [Post edited 9 Feb 2015 16:02]

Season ticket v Steward on 19:06 - Feb 8 by EvenThisNameIsTaken | Yeah, roll on the pedantic and childish responses. This is whats killing Planet Swans... Too much arrogance and self proclaimed know it alls! Terms and conditions.. Agree to it or don't buy the ticket. Let's see how loyal you really are to the club shall we? The t&c's are perfectly reasonable and in no way abnormal, yet it's the usual people who make a deal out of it! |
Your responses are odd to say the least, by giving your ticket to another person you are not ' touting' so you are wrong there, and stadium events, like concerts where entry is by ticket are also not included in that legislation. So, wrong again. All that you are relying on is a declaration that the ticket is not transferable, even though it is allowed and encouraged by the ticket office and by the club even this season. And there are many instances where directors have referenced people sharing tickets which has also been encouraged by the club over last seasons. Furthermore you state that many clubs carry out this practice, now this is incorrect, very few actually do, so you are very wrong there, again. Yes rules are rules, but .... application of common sense is a rule we all like to live by, flexibility is something you don't understand clearly. and as I said before just because it is written down it doesn't mean it is right and applicable. And then you question someone's support for the club who has already forked put four and a half hundred quid over a year in advance is ridiculous. You sir need to draw a breath, your all excited over this more reasons than you declare, and have had a complete mare in response to this thread. If I were I would check your own terms and conditions, your about to explode in your own blinkered misery.

This is what I mean by allowing untrained people to be in possession of information and material they are not or should not be allowed to have. That paragraph you picked out is extremely worrying. Clearly this 'happy steward' is going beyond his / her remit as are all stewards if the crowd are being monitored in ways They are indicating. Frightening, are they also flouting legislation regards the use of cameras and invasion of privacy, I think its about time we sent in some freedom of information Notices to Swansea city fc and stadco.

Season ticket v Steward on 18:08 - Feb 9 with 1611 views | jack_lord | Off but on topic. If you buy a season ticket which works out at a vastly reduced price to buying a ticket for every game, do the ticket office guarantee to give you a price for your season ticket if you can not attend games? If so, what a win win situation for the season ticket holder. Go to the ones you fancy and get the ticket office to give you money for the ones you don't.

Season ticket v Steward on 18:17 - Feb 8 by EvenThisNameIsTaken | Strange indeed. As you clearly haven't read the Terms & Conditions for the last several season at least. Season ticket is 'non-transferable' and all.... strange indeed! Being a season ticket holder myself - I've seen these checks being done in the past. The first person to spot the issue is the turnstile operator who then calls the steward at the gate. You purchase your season ticket on the basis you agree to abide by the stadium terms & conditions - if you don't then why should they continue to provide you the facility (season ticket). It's all fair at the end of the day. And just because you haven't seen this done in the past doesn't mean it's a 'new thing'. Some people need to get a grip on reality here! |
"Get a grip" you say.....maybe you should take a bit of your own advice. If you're not a steward.....perhaps you've missed your vocation, as you seem to have all the credentialls needed to become one.

I was really chuffed the steward stopped me and said "That is an OAP season ticket" I replies yes, than he said "you are not old enough to have this" It made my da as it was mine. (65) Also If you wish to pass on your season Ticket to somebody else, all you have to do is take your ST into the TO and exchange it for a paper one of the same level, or you can pay extra to upgrade it, you then pass the paper ticket on and your ST is blocked for just that game. Season ticket v Steward on 18:41 - Feb 9 with 1559 views | Phil_S | Shandyjack has already responded but we (Trust) raised this with Andrew Davies yesterday (I told Shandyjack and he held off until we came back) and this was the response from him (below) Have to say both Andrew and Catherine Thomas picked this up super quick and this was the overall reply -- We have been handed five season cards from Saturdays match. Our Ticket Office Manager has contacted the season ticket holders directly and apologised on behalf of the stadium. We have offered to send their seasons back special delivery if more convenient than them attending the stadium. We are trying to ascertain through these phone calls what steward(s) made these decisions and this will be dealt with by the Stadiums Operations Manager. Clearly the steward has interpreted the policy incorrectly and this has led to the issue. Equally evidently the steward was not alone in his actions. We will ensure that the briefing all stewards are given before every match includes clear instruction regarding the policy and we will identify the stewards who confiscated the season tickets and clarify the matter with them This will all form part of the briefings for the next fixture to reinforce the clubs policy” -- Glad to see this resolved and credit where it is due to those that took it on and resolved it

Season ticket v Steward on 19:44 - Feb 9 with 1474 views | AnotherJohn | I am not criticising Phil's stand, which has been exemplary, but is this matter really fully resolved? Posting the season tickets back doesn't really cut it for me. It seems that five people have travelled to the Liberty Stadium with valid tickets expecting to see a game, but have been turned away and had their day ruined. Whether in terms of breach of contract or promissory estoppel, they probably have a case against the club. At a minimum the ticket they could not use and the wasted travel costs had a cash value. I'd say that compensation is due. If the administration has any sense, it should be giving out a few free VIP tickets to put things right, before somebody has a chat with their solicitor.
