Season ticket v Steward 11:05 - Feb 8 with 15982 views | shandyjack | I leant my season ticket to my grandfather like I always do when I'm away in Lindon with work and never Ben an issue, yesterday though some woman steward decided to confiscate it off him. Anyone else ever have this issue? [Post edited 8 Feb 2015 19:45]

Too much arrogance and self proclaimed know it alls! Terms and conditions.. Agree to it or don't buy the ticket. Let's see how loyal you really are to the club shall we? Season ticket v Steward on 19:49 - Feb 8 with 1480 views | shandyjack | have edited the silly comments i made about the stewaerd as it wasn't acceptable to say and it didn't add anything to the topic. On a sidenote, the lady steward reported the event to her supervisor who stated that he would normally let it slide but due to the lady steward making a formal issue of it he had to take the action he did. Even took my grandfather's name and address

No it is the club that have clearly defined what is acceptable in the booklet issued with the season ticket The fact that they do not understand their own rules of which I have very clear and excruciating evidence, is not our fault. As far as Shandyjack's granddad I think we are looking at - False arrest if he was stopped and held against his will (even without restraint) - Confiscation of personal effects - and significant pain and suffering All against the clearly documented use rules included with the ST. NO EXCUSES If it suited him I would like to see him in one of the best seats at our next match on the big screen pre match with significant grovelling going on from senior club officials And as I say beware stewards because if you behave like this to customers without clearly defined written instructions to that effect from your employers it will be you the blame will be passed on to.

As a civil servant, the phrase "rules is rules" makes me feel all warm inside. Stupid rule mind. My mrs has been in the ground loads of times using a number of different mates' STs. At the risk of turning this into a Les Dawson routine, she doesn't look anything like a bloke. I've lent mine plenty of times to friends and family members when I've had to miss a game. Never had a problem. If this rule is suddenly being enforced vigorously, I can see no good reason for it.

Season ticket v Steward on 20:14 - Feb 8 with 1368 views | jack_lord | It maybe that the club are trying to gauge the true demand for tickets Many fans benefit from holders passing on season tickets to them for games either through freebies or discounted rates. Many pay the "going rate" from holders that can't be arsed or are unable to go which to me is bollix as they get a great discounted rate for the season. It doesn't help that the club have appeared to say it is OK to pass on to friends or family but maybe that isn't the case anymore and as it is in the terms and conditions then they are within their rights. Perhaps it will discourage some fans from purchasing future season tickets if they are unable to transfer a ticket but even a holder were to sell a ticket back to the club for 22 quid a game then they are still doing allright as it is a no lose situation.

My season ticket has just got my initial and surname on it. Think it has been different in the past, so your Mrs is fine, as long as she isn't a pensioner!

I often loan friends season tickets when home and don't mind going in disguise to fool these jobs worth stewards if thats what it takes! A fake internet id should do it,matching the ST holders name, maybe speaking in a different accent, if required i can do a lovely east side tone with a hint of swansea valley thrown in. Lets be honest, stuff like this is fookin' awful, what the fook is going on when you can't turn a blind eye to an old gent using the ST of his son who works in the forces, an absolute disgrace and shameful by whoever decided to persue this. I sense people starting to get the hump with quite a few things of late, crowd facing advertising being another, not sure why things are changing or need to be changed, the family club is now just a marketing tool and in all honesty always was, a club run by fans for the fans held a little bit more truth until recently . I think we are entering our "Beatles last performance" phase when they played for the final time on top of the Apple Corps building in London, the transition from popular to un attainable to losing sight of what made them loved by all . Mad stuff to infringe on what has been going on for years with no ill effect. If it aint broke, no need to fix it .
Season ticket v Steward on 20:36 - Feb 8 with 1284 views | happysteward | Ok, just as I thought......more flack for the stewards. I think you first need to remember that without stewards the events would not go ahead so it is with their commitment that you can attend each and every fixture. However, to tar us all with the same brush would be unfair as I myself know how to use my discretion in such instances and in this particular instance I personally do not see what wrong has been done here by this elderly gentleman and would not have made an issue of his attendance. I have worked at the stadium for 7 years now and I can also understand why some stewards are a little cautious for fear of getting their 'knuckles wrapped' should it be witnessed that they challenged someone and let it slide. Once they start their probing they are committed to finish in case they are reported for anything. Some of us however, have learnt not run before we can walk. In terms of people mocking my comments about stolen tickets which was just used as an example, we have actually caught people who have stolen tickets and used them on the day without the owners consent and entered the stadium. There are a million ticketing issues we have to deal with at every event so please try to have a little insight into the job of a steward and by the way - we don't just 'stand and point at the same time' as someone here as already rudely tried to point out. The stewards take a lot of flack, but bear in mind, there is a huge waiting list for season tickets and so I suggest that (with small minor issues like this aside) if you are not prepared to abide by the stadium policies and procedures and terms and conditions, then maybe you should not buy your ticket for next season. There are plenty of people out there who would cut off their right arm to get hold of one so let's appreciate them a little more. I myself have had many people approach me with a season ticket asking where their seat is. I give them a crafty look so they know that 'I know it's not really your ticket or you wouldn't be asking' and then I politely direct them to where they should be going. As most stewards now know who most of you fans are (and believe me, we know more than you like to think in terms of regular fans and habits within the ground) we know when to use discretion. This is bound to happen and will continue to do so but we just all need to remember that if you are going to pass your ticket on, then there is a risk you or someone you passed your ticket to will be questioned. It's all part of a stewards job so it's not their fault.

Here it is from that site Q - If I can’t make a game can somebody go in my place? A - Yes. If you are an adult anyone can use the ticket regardless of age as you have paid the maximum price. If you are a concession priced season ticket holder you would then be faced with the upgrade fee for an adult or your ticket can be used like for like i.e. Senior for senior or student for student.

Just as a matter of point from here... 1. There are not "A million ticketing issues you have to deal with at every event" 2. There is not a huge waiting list for season tickets 3. You yourself admit that you would have turned a blind eye so therefore there is discretion in the rules and regs 4. People have already pointed out it says it can be done 5. You are not volunteers, you get paid to turn up to work so please don't do the commitment card. Nobody would do it in their job so why should you be any different That's just for starters...
