"There is no strategic value of that place to Russia"
You are the dullest bloke ever if you think that. The many Russian attempts at landing there gives a clue even to idiots.
Snake island is an isolated outpost 20 miles off the coast. It has no military infrastructre and was guarded by 13 Ukranian troops. No value whatsoever

Whatever you think about the Hill as a programme there’s no denying that from Gorbachev to Putin the Russians have been expressing their displeasure and “betrayal “ at the broken western pledges of no NATO encroachment onto their doorsteps .

You’re having a mare on this, google it and you’ll see why it’s of significant importance.

It's 600 metres long maximum. It's useless as a stronghold or military base, that's why there's no infrastructure and lighly defended. One missile could take it out. It's completely useless

NATO never promised that new members would not be accepted. Justin another PUTIN lie. Putins illegal invasion of Ukraine has just been a recruitment boom for NATO.

Makes you wonder why Russia wanted to capture it in the first place and has spent so much effort trying to defend it then including the loss of two naval vessels so far. Was this another tactical blunder by the Russian capturing an island that has no tactical value.

Keep convincing yourself but you're not right

You really are in an alternative dimension if you did not see the reports on Russian TV of Russia's heroic capture of snake island and their reports that they have repelled all attempts by the Ukrainians to recapture. I bet you even believe Russia has not invaded Ukraine.

What do they want that tiny island for?

Russia restarting it missile attacks on civilian targets in Kyev.
They have taken the east of the country, which is what many in here said wouldn't happen. We will have to see what happens next. Whatever happens, there's nothing anyone can do about it

I thought they’d run out of bullets and lost over 30,000 soldiers? Oh , he meant that was the Ukrainians. Now he finally makes sense

It's not an alternative dimension it's just wummery.
Just like I don't remember anyone saying (though they might have) the Russians will never take the Donbas entirely, it was said they are paying a very high price though.
This unstoppable Red war machine is being given a bloody nose by an army backed up by thousands of volunteer conscripts with minimal training, a real citizens militia. Which is why Russia has taken to pounding large aras with artillery resulting in very many civilian deaths.
Snake island obviously has tactical importance, from there the Ukraine can launch missiles at Russian planes and ships. We first heard of Snake island when the Moskva cruised up and ordered those 13 troops garrisoned there to surrender. But obviously Russia has no interest in Snake Island. Not if you're a Haw Haw.

Russia has taken the east, so where is this bloody nose you speak of. Snake island is a tiny piece of rock 30 miles from the coast of Ukraine. It has no military infrastructure and was guarded by just 13 troops. One missile strike from Russia would wipe any garrison out, It was used for PR reasons only

Russia has resumed the missile attacks on civilian targets in Kyev. Russian has bombed, shelled reduced to Rubble the Eastern parts it wanted to liberate, while the majority of the population has moved out of the area.
Truly scraping the bottom of the barrel now , a decent sized target though so i'm guessing he won't see 2023
Due to significant losses among competent commanders, Russia has been forced to send in retired Major General Pavel to oversee a special forces unit operating in Eastern Ukraine.

It’s of major significance, not least because it enables the Russians to claim huge areas of the sea as its territorial waters.

They could wipe it out with one missile, and Russian navy is nowhere near to territorial waters of the Ukraine, they are 100km away
The fact their ships are a 100 miles away is neither here or there. If the island forms part of their territory they get to extend their territorial waters. Have a look at a map of British territorial waters and look at the effect the Shetland Islands has on our waters.
